I want to organize four best of seven 1v1 tournaments:

1. Qi Maps
2. Fizzer Maps
3. Cool 1v1 Templates (non-Qi, non-Fizzer maps)
4. Local Deployment Templates

Fizzer's can be done last, since the ladders are all about his maps and templates. I'll have to locate or (re)make the cool 1v1 templates. And I'll have to experiment a little to make new LD templates.

So, the first best of seven 1v tournament will be on the following seven Qi maps/templates:

BASIC IDEA:

(1) I'll create a tournament of 16 or 32.
(2) Each tournament "game" represents a Best of 7 Series.
(3) The loser of the Best of 7 Series surrenders in the tournament "game."
(4) Links to completed games are shared in the tournament chat as confirmation of the results.

If anybody cheats, we can organize the tournament on paper.

If everybody plays and is trustworthy, this could be fun.

It is too bad Fizzer doesn't HAVE tournament SETTINGS with best of 3/5/7 series that determine who advances each round (like in MLB and the NBA). It would also be cool to allow us to pick which templates are used in each game of the series (Game 1: Template A, Game 2: B, Game 3: C, etc.).

Yeah, once he become aware of this one I assume he'll shut it down.

He does of course allow it and even enables us to do it in a nice automated format with CLOT if we are particularly motivated. What you should say is that he hasn't thus far built in the ability for us to do it officially when creating a tournament.

I'm pretty excited for this though. I assume playing additional games after one player wins 4 is optional, so playing them in order means the later ones probably get less exposure which is a bit of a shame.

Nobody plays Qina, as far as I am aware. But it is a decent template. Sumo is somewhat popular. I thought it would be a fun tiebreaker, if a series goes to game 7.
