About a week ago, my vacation ended while I was sleeping at night. I had to work a full day the next day. By the time I had free time to extend my vacation, I had been booted in seven of ten games.

The time one has to make moves once the vacation ends is a bit short.

It does say to make your vacation slightly longer then needed.

That's what I did, and it works fine.

i dont think making a move should end your vacation. it discourages people from moving during vacations if they get an unexpected chance. i dont really see the point of it.

I agree.

I accidentally used my vacation when I went on vacation and only had one left, so I couldn't take my turn anywhere, only chat.

If you could take your turns while on vacation i'd just keep vacation mode up all the time and never get booted, that wouldn't work =p

I agree with x. If one has 20+ games going and returns from vacation, there is not enough time to take the turns WITHOUT gluing oneself to the computer for hours and ignoring all other responsibilities in life.

I know if I had a long vacation in which I went to a foreign country to rest and relax, the last thing I'd want to do upon returning home is drop my luggage at the door, turn on my computer, and play 3-5 hours of warlight just to catch up in all my games.

Having a longer grace period and doing what x suggested would make a difference.

Thing is, you can extend your vacation to a point well after your planned return so that you can be play whenever you choose to do so. While the vacation may have a set limit to it, all that is needed to extend it is a simple email to Fizzer.

Additionally, if you know you are going on vacation (which I imagine is the majority of the time) you should make an effort to finish of your games so that you don't have so many waiting for you upon your return.

Also, to my understanding, the vacation only ends once a turn is taken. One option is to open all of your pending games in their own window, make the moves and not commit in all of them and then mass commit. Voila... turns are taken over a longer timeframe still under the umbrella of your vacation.

None of those ideas fit my circumstances. So I was booted after my 10-day vacation's 10th day and 3-5 hour grace period ended.

This is a brilliant idea. A lot of people would benefit from realizing this, I think.
