This level starts you off in a crossword puzzle, where you occupy center and you have the 4 enemies around you. I am not able to keep myself from getting completely overrun. Expanding in all directions just brings me to the enemies really quickly and they all come with stacks 20+. Focusing in on one enemy kinda works and when I meet them with their giant stack, I can usually push ahead using the order delay card, but they are able to muster up so many armies so quickly that I end up getting stalled and then smashed by one of the other guys.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to overcome this level?

Nevermind, after a dozen more attempts I managed to win by attacking the player in the top right who seemed to glitch out...
