What is an active player? Everyone's definition is different.

Also what do you mean by 'best'. Best at strategy? Best at all games? Best community player?

USA - Deadman -> FSG :: Maybe peak Deadman was better than peak FSG, but FSG is one of the absolute best in the game now and Deadman is mostly retired. I tend to value more recent ability because I think in general the playerbase has gotten better over time.

Germany - Timi -> AI :: This is maybe just recency bias but there's no denying AI has been an absolute force recently. MTL, CL, Seasonal, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3. You name it he's winning it.

Turkey - Rouxburg -> Tornado:: No idea who Rouxburg was, so this may be way off base, but Tornado is very good and I don't see many players from Turkey.

Israel - Doron Hoh -> Clivan :: Most of my changes can be attributed to valuing feats now over feats past. This is a case where I think any way you slice it Clivan is better than Doron Hoh.

Obviously I haven't been around that long so feel free to mock me for undervaluing past players.

BTW I actually disagree about listing US players by state. People can move states fairly easily (I used to be in Wisconsin not too long ago) while moving countries is far more difficult. I probably rate as the best Wisconsin player but certainly not the best California player.

You could make a very sound argument for Deadman being the best player ever. Fivestargeneral is a sad little boy who watches k dramas all day and only has 1 gold trophy. There is no comparison between the two. You could perhaps make an argument that FSG is the best active American, although I think it's fairly even between him Pardon and Octane. Octane probably edges it though because he's in FCC.

I'll agree to:

1) I probably underrate Deadman due to his reputation as a cheat and the only times I've seen him play are mediocre showings in RT tournaments/games.

2) Pardon has a strong case to be rated even or better than FSG. Octane while a great player has a weaker case.

However, the MTL trophy is probably worth the rest combined.

Do you know what deadman did? Calling him a cheat is way over the top. He just took over an account of an inactive clanmate on cl. Doesn't diminish his skills in the least. Clearly the best player from usa despite not being active recently.

Even though it slightly hurts, i'd also put AI over timi at the moment.

For great britain we'd have to make buns and koopa play a best of 99 in order to find out who's the best

deadman did so much for the comunity, to only think of him as a cheat because of one thing he did once is beyond me..... also he has back to back seasonal wins you fool(said in the voice of mister T).... 3 really as he did not participate in season 30 and 31. noone else will ever do that

@Njord while I enjoy learning about the history of the game and very well am probably underrating Deadman, past accomplishments that no one will repeat does not in of itself make one the best ever. Example Bill Russell won 11 championships in the NBA, but is widely considered inferior to players like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Lebron James etc.

deadman has the most impressive achiments and they are done quite rencently.....

now if they were done when the game was new then sure then the game would have evolved greatly. But he won his last seasonal 2 years ago.

As we all noticed, it can be pretty easy to be in team Ireland.

Therefore, I guess there has to be a debate, if the best Irish player is Yaxvi, FSG or Xeno!

America: Pardon, who has won 5 trophies vs FSG's 1 (assuming that we are focused on current active players)
