Finally got around to reading a bit about this idea by Stephen Wolfram that has been hyped as a potential path to a theory of everything:

While this is a more high-level and accessible article, more technical papers are available on https://www.wolframphysics.org/ including Jonathan Gorard's papers:

I am not yet versed enough to understand the technical jargon and mathematics in the papers. (I am still trying to wrap my mind around the intuition in classical mechanics.) But I find this very interesting. And if you have found this interesting as well, I'd be curious to know of your thoughts in regards to this - especially those with background in this subject. It has been about a month and a half since they released this project and there have been some updates that can be found on the website as well.

Another thing worth mentioning is that I haven't read A New Kind of Science yet. That book has been on my reading list for years. I really ought to get around to reading it. :P
There are also some other interesting related books too like Godel, Escher, Bach and Penrose's The Road to Reality that are down the line on my to-read list.
