On topic: I don't think this is a terrible idea. RvW outlined the way I feel about this, so I won't re-post what he said, but overall, I'm in favor.

I kinda like this idea as well, we all know it's happening anyway, this way you get to know who you are really playing which is a plus.

And RvW; you don't really have to share passwords, if you go on vacation you can change your password and then change it back when you are back from vacation.
