Criminology wouldn't tell you shit about the current issue either, it's much more closely linked to psychology and the behavioral sciences than anything regarding actual laws.

I am a Software Engineer, I also am a former Administrator of tribalwars.co.uk, a game which has several hundred times as many players as Warlight has ever had. While working there as an admin I got nigh-weekly threats of people going to sue me if I didn't unban them.
They had absolutely no leg to stand on, none. It did not matter if they had paid to play the game, that was their choice, and doing so did not guarantee them access to the game afterward.

Except that, I'm not, and being a software engineer is relevant because when you have to copyright your work, and defend those copyrights on a regular basis you tend to study copyright law and contract law so as to prevent yourself from getting financially burned.

I look at your case as genuine they have in a sense took over your clan without right or reason in the sense of not to protect the clan rather put it in the line of fire. But if you take it is not sense this is because of your own actions in poor leadership, lack of respect to others and overall giving clans a bad name.
Those two points I think balance each other out in what I and others like to call... 'Karma'
Now this is where I get to say to you, you may know crminology, you may be or have lawyers, however, as you should know, the phrase 'Buyer beware' or 'Terms and conditions apply'
It is clearly stated when giving manager rights not to give it to someone you dp not completely trust 100% as you risk being kicked yourself, this is pointed out to you clearly and undeniably.
Therefore for you to say its 'theft' or its 'illegal' is actually wrong because it is pointed out to you this may happen.
For instance in real life, I may buy a house without properly looking, this comes under 'Buyer beware' then I found out the house is built on unstable foundations, I can't blame others because I bought it under the full knowledge of being warned.
In summary HH, I sympathise with you that you paid for the clan to be created, however it was your own risk to share it and its only your fault it is no longer. If you had wished this to not of happened you should not of given anyone else manager ability or make sure you 100% trust them as clearly you did not...
