You haven't actually been challenged to a 1v1... it is simply the most convenient means of having a personal chat. So long as Warlight lacks a universal messaging system such games will be common means of communicating away from the public eyes.

Doing so is often meant as a more polite means of correcting someone or clarifying a point without calling you out in public.

As for the grammar/spelling lessons, it's simple really. These people realize that use of poor spelling or grammar will make people not take you seriously in life. Prattle on with poor grammar, typos galore and no sentence/paragraph structure and you are bound to be ignored by many regardless of the validity or salience of your point.

ah well Thats my point Richard In Life i will make an effort to form correct paragrapgh structure and all your so important what not but i treat Warlight as a Strategy Game. there f0r mispelled words due to my tipin speed make no difference to me and i think its sad if im not the only one amused by grammer police on this game...
i think its funny i was going to post this hue paragrapgh of how to fix speeling mistakes from boston but i guess i amde the mistake of warning cause he delted the game immediately..

P.S. Richard i think your trying to defend what we call a "Cop out" you see trolls have no problem trolling in public so when you challenged me to a 1 on 1 game and i accepted then you went all up in arms about how im not worth your time thats jsut funny mate could you please just ferain from commenting on any rsps threads.. weve all established your immaturity and hate toward us and thats understood but either way we use this as a way to organize clan activities for inside and outside challnges itd be great if you could refrain from redirecting the flow of the thread

Thanks for the heads up.

If sum1's naytive tung ain't Ainglish, eye tend to cut em some slack.

But if you are a native English speaker, my friend, shame on you. Judging by your capitalization of "challenged" (that would be a verb, FYI), your lack of grammatical skills isn't merely an attempt to speed things up.

But kudos to you for calling yourself out after someone made a genuine effort to not call you out. I doff my cap.

Quick/Aggressive

If you were a non-native speaker I would give you a lot of slack.

As you are a native speaker, your butchering of the english language is absurd.

I invited you to a private game, where non of this would have to come out. So no one would be embarassed one way or the other. So to see it come out in such a way that makes you only look like a fool, actually saddens me.

Its hilarious that you have not only opened youself to critizism on one front, but also clearly shown that quick and aggressive are the same people. I know that piggy is a distinct person from you, but what of your other members?

------

I did delete said game. I did not think it merited presentation in the forum. It was a private chat, meant to stay private.

I don't even bother reading half the stuff you write. It takes too much out of me to try to decipher whatever it is you're trying to say, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

If you want anyone to take you seriously, especially as a native English speaker, I suggest you put a little bit more effort into structuring and grammar. This is not meant as an insult, just as some friendly advice. If you'd prefer that no one reads/understands what you're trying to convey, by all means, continue.

I understand you want to save time in a real-time game, and then forget a few capitals, punctuation marks and such, but on the forum you have all the time you want, so there's no need to rush. Why would you want to write so quickly when you know those mistakes will make people take you less seriously?
Take Ironheart for example. He has made some good maps, but because he writes exactly as you do, he's very hard to understand.
I think whether you are a native speaker or not, you should at least try to fix some errors, or simply add capitals and punctuation marks, because they barely differ between most languages. Just give it a shot, people may suddenly have a whole different attitude to you.

It's weird that all of you people are arguing about grammar, yet none of you guys can write a paragraph without making a mistake in grammar or orthorgraph. Generaly, I wouldn't put caps during the beginning of the sentecnce, shorten words, and so on, but if you guys want to explain grammar, at least spell your words properly. I amm just doing this to show how easy it is to write correctly. I declare only the comments of Richard Sharpe, [20], and BostonPhoenix on grammar are valid.

Can't tell if Mylor is trolling or serious...

Either way, the point is not that perfect grammar and spelling must be used. It is merely that some level of effort is merited when posting on the forums. If you are too lazy to bother forming your words into coherent thoughts and making them easily read by others don't expect to be taken seriously. It's really as simple as that.

anyone who writes a sentence like that has no business making declarations in a discussion about grammar. you also made a few obvious typos which you would have easily spotted by glancing over your comment before posting.

if someone doesn't bother to read their own comment before posting it, neither will i.

I have fixed your grammar and spelling errors for you Mylor, 17 in total. Please do not create a paragraph about the proper way to write in the English language, and then promptly butcher it. Not only does it make you seem unintelligent, but it's also an embarrassment to native English speakers everywhere. Thank you.

It is weird that all of these people are arguing about grammar, yet none of these people can write a paragraph without making a mistake in grammar or orthorgraph. Generally, I wouldn't bother putting capital letters during the beginning of a sentence, nor would I bother typing words out in full, but if you guys want to explain grammar, at least spell your words properly. You started this thread as an attack on me.

You made yourself look like a fool.
