Give it a few days and you can break the record for highest rated number 3.

Recipe to get higher rating than most of the time I had on 1v1 ladder:
1) Beat 2 > 2000 players
2) Beat 2 > 1700 players
3) Beat 11 < 1550 players
4) Stall at least 2 games

Would have been a well-deserved #1 with this run :)

Sze, when in the ladder, I use probabilities to estimate my chances of winning. If the player has a rating of 1300-1600, i estimate my probability of winning at 80%, if the player has a rating of 1600-1800, 70%, if he has 1800-2000, i'd say 50-60%, if he has 2000+, i'd say 33-50%. This leaves room for error. The ladder is so competitive that everyone who's ranked 120th or above knows what they are doing. You can blitz through your first few games with your eyes closed. But once you get to 120th or above, your opponents know what they are doing, they need to make 6 picks, they know about 4v2 luck, they have a basic knowledge of all the cards. Usually, allowing a little bad luck, its that small margin of superior experience and skill that wins you the game. When it comes to top players, not only do you need to make your best picks and play, you also need luck. Which is why your chances of winning are lower. There is no player in the top 100 that I can say with certainty I can beat in our first game.

My point? 15 games in a row is harder than it looks, even with noobs and stalling. Sure, I played a lot of noobs, but you have to be consistent too. I can say with certainty that I cannot beat 15 players ranked 1500-1600 in a row without stalling, and I doubt you can too.

i think that's not completely right. a top 50 Player can easily get a top 3 rank when he stalls a few games. i joined the ladder, beated 15 Players and took rank 3. i needed to stall against 2 Players but with 5 games at a time it's no problem. sure the ladder is very competitive at the Moment, but i had only 3-4 serious fight under my first 15 games.

The Grand Odysseus is Fizzer. His long response, dull English, and faulty logic (poor qualitative reasoning masked as infallible quantitative reasoning) give him away.

Its just my opinion. I believe I am better than most of the players that I played and won, but i would say that most of the games were not pushovers. However, my belief may only apply to lesser mortals like me. As Qi, the proud and mighty [20] Warlight leader and legend, I suppose every game must have been very easy for you indeed.

your analyzing skills are clearly just bs, Qi, I'm Jehovah. :)

Haha. Gratuitous insults sometimes require stretching the truth and the credible.

But, to be serious, you can't convince anyone you are Jehovah if you talk like JSA.

Edited response to your editing: I have never said I am a leader of anything on WL and have never once called myself a legend. I would never do either, especially the latter, since it is so fucking ridiculous linguistically. And if you want to be a manager of 20, all it takes is $15. I think Odysseus in Qi's alt. All this nonsense about Jay, Fiz and Jehovah is just a parlor trick to divert attention.

It's really hard to have a 50cm penis even if you count the length with your spine.

I wouldn't be that harsh on you if you did not complain about not getting to #1. I think we can very soon make an announcement that 1v1 ladder became a real joke.

I agree. While, the competitiveness of the 1v1 ladder has increased, in light of recent events, like Gnuffone cheating and the abusing of the ladder Qi made a thread about a while ago, its certainly losing the entertainment value for long term participants. Earlier today, Piggy and I were just discussing how blatant stalling on the ladder has become, not sure if there's anything that can be done about it though, since stalling is perfectly legal.

best would be if new Players have to beat the FIRST 15 matchups instead random 15 Players to get ranked. like that you can avoid alts from taking a top spot easily. it would maybe suck if they have to Play a slow Player in that 15 but i think i's fair. it's still easier to get a top rank like that than if you are participating over a longer time

1) Send a confirmation of registration to emails. Kills a large portion of alts right there. Murders them, viciously, gleefully. It'll be like Christmas, Hanuka and Ramadan all at the same time, huzzah!

2) What's this talk of stalling? Take it in stride! See it as a chance to kick back and have a beer. If you're in such a hurry to get to the top, you'll end up peeing all over yourself like an overly excited puppy. Take a break and hit the jon, maybe eat something, get laid and live a little.

3) Seeing a bunch of players who have already reached 1st, call the ladder a joke, is like watching the royals laugh at protesting mobs before they storm Versailles and start beheading and lynching everyone in a petticoat, but don't stop! You're all very entertaining and I'm still in the process of procuring a guillotine.

4) Those who take 1st with alts are cowards who use their "noobish" appearance to take advantage of the competition. Any player who makes the excuse of losing because "they didn't focus" is an equal coward. If you didn't focus enough you lost. Losing is losing, there is no damn excuse for it.

This is a strategy game, not a cowards frolic, grow some hair on your chest, men! *and for the women, I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how to tell a woman to "woman up"*

Seems unlikely that'd have any affect on the ladder.

Do people join the ladder with alts? Sure, but the time to create a new gmail account is far less than than to level up the new alt, or earn the money to make that alt a member. I really can't see anyone that would make an alt to play on the ladder being discouraged from doing so by email verification.

Good Kid - It adds another roadblock to the alt process, which can be discouraging. There are other methods as well. Imagine you go inactive for 30 days, so to reactivate your account you need to check an email and verify.

I'm throwing one of many ideas flying around out there that help to cut back on alt accounts. Obviously there are more, but essentially it reduces the general alt population of WarLight. The few malignant alts that persist can be beat using other methods.

Those that wish to have 2-3 accounts and use their real emails can do so, but at the price of investing more time and going through a longer process.
