rereading x's account, i have to side with him

your mistake was to leave WM without a leader (or at least a coordinator)

could this be the end of WM?

i doubt it, but the clan has got a big dent in their rep

I repeat even to you. Trolling and irony is clearly disliked on this thread. "you know he did it"

I just clarified the sequence of the actions, i'm not like "hey look at me, i made it i made it".

And no, this is not the end of WM. Also, Warlight is not kinda game which you need a constant leader which plays everyday like an FPS could be. Me and Dazed leave for 2 weeks? Ok, no more recruits for those 2 weeks. Everybody can keep playing and everybody is ok.

I didn't leave the clan alone for 2 week because i thought it was funny. I also thought that i had an internet connection where i went, but it wasn't like that. So it was like when someone stolen Dazed's laptop and you say: hey dazed, you should have said to us that you would leave us alone.

well according to X, after you returned you didn't explain you disappearance

i guess the mystery has been solved now

and i think, after this charade, you do need a daily leader, to maintain the day to day affairs of the clan.

I feel my clan's leadership system works better in that respect, If i leave, the second in command takes over for example

ill make a few quick points, i dont want to deliberate on this, because as i am no longer a WM, i dont really care.

- I was thinking of a solution to many of our problems, which i would have enacted if it werent for this coup d'etat you seem to have pulled on dazed's run of things. that was to have a change in our tag, from WM to something else, maybe EX or MW or something like that. it would show up any players who were no longer closely involved in our clan.

like a snake shedding its skin.

you instead have attempted to cut off half the snake, and its a bloody mess.

- you and dazed may have been co-founders, but since he was far more active in the running of the clan, he was the de facto leader. since he first disappeared, i have been by far the most active in our clan. if the leader of the clan does nothing to help anyone, and is only leader because they were there first, that clan will quickly go down the sink, and disband. look at what eagleblast's reduced activity has done to REGL.

so i think i was more entitled to be the leader of the clan than you. not that i would be so dictatorial, i would listen to what everyone would have to say.

- the forum is absolutely the worst way to inform our members of changes. only a few of them post here, who knows how many read it, and there is no ability to edit posts.

timezones are irrelevent since most clan activity is on the multi-day level.

we are in dozens of games together. there is the in-game chat function, which i read before i take my turns. i even read the tournament chat every day. a [WM]-only tournament chat is a better place to communicate on.

TL;DR: i think that you are more interested in being the leader of a shitty clan than to be a high-standing member of a powerful clan. all your desicions have been made for your ego, not the good of the clan.

what does TL;DR mean?

I've never heard or read that phrase

TL;DR = Too long; didn't read. In essence the semi-polite way of saying "I didn't actually bother to read what you wrote so I'm only replying to what I guess you probably wrote". When used at the bottom of someone's post it means something like "if you don't want to read the whole post, here's the one-line abstract".

@x
What [WM] provided you.
This is REGL for as far I know:

1. REGL is a very big clan so we just can`t have players, who all have almost the same abilities.

2. This seems logical, but sometimes it happens because somebody just didn`t visit WarLight for 3 days. That isn`t a good reason but it happends.

3. Of course we respect each other and help and fight togheter. Agreeing to surrender sounds logical.

4. There are opportunities, like REGL tournaments/games and clan games. In tournaments we often try to be in the same team. The other games are mostly by invide if you need a clanmate.

5.There are bonds between players, but because we are with a lot of players, you probably won`t play with everybody. (exept during REGL games and tournaments)

6.If you played enough games, there is rarely a change you won`t be invited.

7.To be first in a tournament with help of your teammates, you need good teammates. As you know REGL allows every player to join, so there are a lot of players (including me), wich can`t help you very much. We also have enough players to help you so you just have to choose the right teammates. We are always competitive ;)

Sorry for my bad englisch and for REGL, I hope I didn`t make any mistakes but this is how I see it :)

@x you should make that new clan split it and i don't think regl has leader anymore plus i don't think eagleblast leaving made a differance he was more like a figurehead a symbol of the and a bit of a promoter like arun.

Ironheart please refrain from posting about things you don't understand of have no affliciton with. Both clans are groups of friends, not 100% sure about {rp}, so they will not accept members of [WM].

This time I proved you wrong in a gently way. Next time I won't chose my words this wisely.

I clearly remember advancing a very humble request directly to you (Red) for a tryout just 3-5 months ago, and being accepted in the clan only after having a game with you first and Dazed later. I am sure still a "new guy" in the clan, and might have no voice in this except that you did personally accept me some months ago so I'm not someone you just found out about out of nowhere.

I do not by any means consider myself to be a strong player but I think I'm quite consistent in presence and game. I agree with X when he says this is a bad way to communicate with the clan both in terms of physical mean (forum, bad choice) and in terms of lack of charismatic / leadership skills.

Anyway, I was just looking for an excuse to detach myself a bit from this game, so I geuss I'll just finish my games and avoid joining new ones, keeping the [WM] tag a bit for pride. if you will permit that, I shall soon disappear anyway.

My lack of diplomatic carisma it's because i'm from east europe and because my english aknoledge don't allow me to say what i want in the way i want.

For the east europea thing, just ask to polish :) They look like they are rude, but it's just their way to communicate. I assure that you would be surprised if you listened to me in italian.

min34, i was only trying to explain why i personally wouldnt want to join your clan. im sure the people in REGl enjoy warlight more because of their clan.

ironheart was uncharacteristically on the money with "your ego will earn the influential post of power clan leader".

i dont really know much about rp, apex or #elite, to have anything to say about them.

sorry if my language offended you, dear raptor.

everyone: i would rather have conducted this in private and in retrospect i probably should have just left red a message on a game chat. its probably too late to rectify this, but anyway, i wont read or reply in this thread anymore. if you have something to say to me, tell me in the chatroom, or in a game chat, where i can ignore you more easily.

Alright, Red I suppose I will have to address your points against me.

1. I have 0 skill

2.
I'm not claming to be the messiah of Warlight, just i think there are some standards a player should fit to join WM. We lost Gnuffone for that reason. He player a tourney with vapor and bigby, or whatever, i don't remember exactly, but 2 of the guys i excluded for now, and they lost every single match. After that Gnuffone left.

So I guess this torunament with Gnuffone is just total bull shit then?
http://WarLight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?TournamentID=2176

3. Please update you list on your profile, you seem to have lost quite a few members.

I'll say no more on this, if you want to talk invite me to a game or make a tournament. the way this should of been done. I've always prided myself on being in one of the higher up clans that didn't post random bull shit on the forums. Guess that's gone now.

VaporX out.

[P] is open for any of you who were either removed from [WM] or just quit. Invite me to a game and I'll answer any questions you have about it. We only have about 15 players and so you could get to know everyone fairly quickly instead of a huge clan like [REGL] with 50+ players where it would take a very long time to know everyone.

*sigh*
Well, Although I don't know many of you, I have played with and against a few of you, and due to the topic of clans, I want to pitch in.

Okay, so to begin with, my experience with [WM]players.
So far out of all the matches I have played with and against various members, They have all seemed like above average or good players.
So the "standards" you are imposing seem rather... inconsistent and more about players you don't like.
Which would be fine, it is your clan... right?

Which leads me to the next thing, the clan.
So you leave for two weeks and didn't know you wouldn't have Internet.
Why is that a problem?
You have Co-leaders, no?
Then a second in command, no?
Members you can trust to step up and handle things, yeah?
Then don't get annoyed when someone steps up, hell promote them, praise them, invite them to a game, thank them for being around when you disappeared without warning when no one knows when you will get back.
They let in people who you dont know... NO SHIT SHERLOCK! you were gone, with no date of return.
How about talk with the people who handled recruitment in your stead, discuss who to let in, having tiers things like that.
Sounds like you have/had the people with the dedication.

So that leads to leadership, and what being a clan leader intales.
You don't need to be around all the time, hmm.
I am part of an FPS clan,"yeah but that is different" I hear you saying.
Well the last time we all played and owned the same game was over 6 months ago.
We formed on a game with super basic clan support.
The only thing it has is:
You can start a clan.
The Leader(founder) can invite members and promote officers, and kick any player.
Officers can invite players, kick members and officers and promote players.
Members cant do anything.
All it did was allow you to access a clan list and gave you a tag in front of your name, no clan wars, no clan ranking, lists, etc.
we made a website, used are various skills to make it a awesome site, make videos, music, images, logos, etc.
We are still going, we still organize events of games that a few of us own, we have had leaders leave, officers leave, many members, but we are still fine, why?
Because THE MEMBERS ARE THE CORE!

Why is there a leader, he or she is the person who takes the PR, he is the one that guides the clan, and has a vision.
Doesn't mean that he can tell half the clan that they are kicked and expect no one to care, and everyone to understand.
Red, your job is to be the spokesperson, when someone wants to know where [WM] stands on something, you are the figure head.
Is it a nice role, a fun role, no.
But if you do it well you get to see your group flourish, you will gain respect.

So what do you need to do to be a good leader?
You need to be good at speaking, making people like you, spell check just suggested marketing, so Marketing.
You need to want to be Leader, you need to be willing to see what is good for the clan, not you, not someone you like in the clan, what is good for the majority.
Which means, if you as you said, are not good at conveying your message since your eastern European, then maybe someone else would be better?
Maybe step down?

Now of course you have already done a lot of damage, but with some good damage control maybe you can fix and get some members back, maybe.

TLDR
To F-ing bad, go back and read it.
Or don't, but then please don't reply to my post.
Also Red, maybe you should apologize and start talking things through with the players.
Or if you still feel you did nothing wrong, then good luck with the aftermathe of your choices, for the reputation of the clan I hope it goes well.
