It's time to change for this clan. I'm sorry for those which will not be included in this list, but i made my personal decisions and considerations.

Too many people joined without even let me know, someothers only because they were friends of friends. This came to an end. We don't want to become the future REGL (with all the respect for the clan, i only mean that they let everyone to join).
I'm trying to keep only the best and possibly active in.

So here is the official list. If you have something to replay just create a game and tell me everything.

Lead: [WM]Red
[WM]Dazed & Insane (if he'll come back)

Members:

[WM]Desert_Fox
[WM]Artham
[WM]Falker
[WM]bitermer
[WM]czajnik
[WM]Nord
[WM]Bestuzheff
[WM]Temp
[WM]Szewenigen (depends by his summer/future disponibility)
[WM]X
[WM]NoobSchool
[WM]Mek Blaze

I please the others to remove the tag in front of their name. Thank you.

It strikes me as odd you include a leader whom you aren't even sure will come back at all, much less when, only two lines after you state a combined goal of having "the best" and "active" members?

As a practical tip, since it's impossible to edit forum posts and any request "please don't post here" will only attract troll-posts, wouldn't it be easier to put the list on your profile; you can (ab)use the bio feature for that.
Then you can just post "I am the leader of this clan, check my profile for the official members list"? (Of course, you'd do that after replacing the explicitly marked-as-outdated list on your profile with an updated one, preferably with a last-changed time stamp to let everyone quickly estimate whether you're still keeping it updated.)

Just my two cents! ;)

He's one of the founders of the clan so i'm trying to keep a place for him as long as possible, that's why is colluding with the "active" thing.

I'll also put it on the profile, this was only a reminder for those which probably don't see me so often do the timezone.

John, it's no secret that REGL allows (and wants) every player of all skill levels to join. Did you really expect the result of that to be that higher quality players regard your average player as "good?" I have nothing against REGL, in fact, clans like REGL are good because they give a sense of community to all players of all skill levels, but you have to realize that with quantity comes lower quality.

John, panties on a bit tight?

His point was solely that he disagrees with your clan philosophy but he was by no means critical of it. The difference is obvious so its hardly like this is breaking news. He just thinks a different approach to clan-building more aligns with his interests.

you forgot vricas, and bigby, amongst others.

i dont appreciate you doing this, disappearing for weeks, and suddenly coming back and disowning players who have been [WM] for a long time. forcing this shit to be hashed out in public embarasses the clan.

@John It's your clan philosophy. Making every player join is not something which should make you feel offended man. Just different approaches.

@X Making it public it's a matter of visibility for the WM's, i don't care about the others which could see this.
About the others i didn't mentionate it's not a matter of how long they have been a part of this. A place in [WM] is not a lifetime membership. I never said that they are exiliated from the clan. I gave an opportunity to everyone to play a tryout. [X]Ryan tried several times and i think we played 5 tryouts, but until he's not "ready" to join i won't make it do that. The reason is about the level of their gameplay. For example VaporX and SailorBoy, they are both good team mate, which you can communicate with and listen to advices and so on, but their level is not enough. After all i never made a tryout with sailor and vapor, and even if i did i'd never make them join with the level they had/have.
I'm not claming to be the messiah of Warlight, just i think there are some standards a player should fit to join WM. We lost Gnuffone for that reason. He player a tourney with vapor and bigby, or whatever, i don't remember exactly, but 2 of the guys i excluded for now, and they lost every single match. After that Gnuffone left.

You are right that i left 2 weeks, X, but i was thinking to "clear" the clan weeks and months ago.I don't have nothing against them. I'll play all the tryouts they want and if i see that they got better i'll be proud to let them join.

I hope you will all understand, i just want to restore the clan's level. Otherwise, i'm also open to other proposes like making something like A and B teams, or whatever you want, but i lost 2 good players because of those inconvenience with team mates.

Dazed was for a more "familiar" approach (that's why he made VaporX and SailorBoy join even if i didn't agree) i'm for a skill based approach.

Last but not least, Falker is the last member who joined, if you want to see his gameplay just ask for me, i always play tryouts with everyone and i didn't make join anyone only because of "connection" or "relationships".

I wait for your opinion about makeing an A & B team.

WM Red there is nothing stopping people from putting that WM tag on their name Aand your idea is too make the official and elite wm and regard the rest as fakes,Phonies and copy cats just to keep the standard up to the community.

This sounds like a bad idea
Instead you should make subgroups a and be and c just make sure all members get it.

Red, regardless of what REGL's clan philosophy is, It is seen as a call out of that clan to bring their philosophies into your clan discussion thread.. why not just state that WM will become an elitist clan, as opposed to an everyman clan, and leave names out of it..?

my personal belief on clans, *regarding a clan If and when I ever make one* is that every member should be fairly well known to a fair amount of other members, and of decent enough skill level to be reliable to one another, or at least be able to know deference to better players decisions in team situations.

the elitist mentality, and removing players because they *lost every game in a tournament* is elitism in it's entirity.. why not instead of shrugging off players that don't meet your elitist standards, train them and give them a group environment to grow in.. skill in games like this can be learned, *and even simulated in a group environment* so long as the members are willing to learn.

This eventually elitism that clans develop, is one reason why I am highly reluctant to join them..

@perrin not all clans are elitist like REGL or Warlighters most new clans coming up with a few exclusion (unbeaten) are open for everyone.

Ironheart, not saying that they are... am saying the problem is that often some form of leader attempts to refine the clan at an eventual time, turning the clan into an elitist ideal.... it's the eventual and inevitable evolution from a group of people playing together to have fun, to a group of people dedicated to always win..

@perrin true but the bigger the clan the harder it is to make that change for regl it might take a while to make that purge plus if most of your clan is inactive then it also harder.

Actually BlueMonkey, It seems that you are not in the clan. I don't mean to be rude, but I'm just taking what 50% of your clan leadership has posted, and putting it in the most respectful way I can.

Red didn't put you on the list, and you're not on his profile. He had to make some hard cuts to the roster, and is asking everyone else not on his list to remove WM from their name. (If I were a clan leader, I would at least tell people personally rather than just posting a list, but hey, I don't run my own elite clan.)

Red doesn't want to be a Future REGL, he said so himself. This is largely in part to his perception that REGL doesn't have anything skill requirements.

Red has an ideal for his clan, and you don't fit it. If you did, he would have put you on the list. WM is now only for ELITE players, (sounds like he should change his clan name to Elite?) but REGL has nothing but scrubs in it.

If you are interested in setting up a REGL invite match, I can coordinate. But I doubt you'd have any trouble making the cut, we accept just about anyone.

im out.

you and dazed were the primary people in the formation of this clan. surely, you were in general agreement at that time and for a long while after. when dazed went awol the first and second time, we were leaderless. recently you have been not very active and for at least two weeks, completely inactive. you were booted from several games i was in, including a championship game of a tournament. other WMs have had the same deal. you havent even bothered with an excuse.

for you to then come back and radically change the direction of the clan is ridiculous. when you became inactive, i didnt know if you would be back. i took the role of leader and tried to emulate dazed's leadership of the clan. you however have kicked out players dazed himself brought in, without consulting anyone.

you have showed poor consistency, which is similarly important to quality, since your quality doesnt matter after you are booted. as the most consistent and active player of this clan, other than maybe szeweningen, i dont appreciate you not mentioning this to me in any way. if you have a problem with not being notified of new members, maybe you can understand my frustration at falker being included.Nobody other than you has ever heard of him.

i dont want to be in a clan with a capricious dictator of a leader, with not enough players to fill out tournament teams, who lets the entire site know of important decisions before he tells the previous leader.

i know the clan could have been shaped up a little, but my main problem was that so many of our players were inactive, or had left. i disagree with your decision to axe people, but you embarassing us like this is the worst thing.

bye.

like bigby, i also would want to join a similar group. there arent really any though, and i dont feel much like starting one at this point.

probably what will happen now is that ill be unlikely to join team tournaments, which was most of my games. so everyone, i expect my activity to decline from here. you might consider me to be in semi-retirement like szew.

saying that, you left WM because of this so you may not feel like that

i think there is room for variation in skill. and i would admire a clan with high standards for reliability with average standards for skill.

but since there are zero quality standards for {warlighters}, and i have never really played with any of them before, i might as well be on a team of unidentified strangers.

heres what WM provided to me:
  • players of similar ability to mine (sometimes greater, sometimes lesser)
  • players who would, unless they had legitimate explanations, not get booted
  • players who would respect their teammates, by listening to advice and agreeing when to surrender
  • many opportunities to play with or against these players
  • bonds between players as a result of playing with each other often
  • increased opportunity to be invited to interesting games and tournaments (though theres rarely a tournament i dont get invited to)
  • i have won a few tournaments thanks to partnering up with fellow players above my ability, like szew, mek blaze, dazed and red. its nice sometimes to be on teams which are so competitive, even if you are the weak link. conversely, its nice to see a slightly lesser player rise to or above your ability, thanks to you.

not really sure regl meets any of these points, mostly because they have so many players, and partly because some of their players are quite far below my ability (though there are at least a couple better than me, and probably others on my level).

i also add iggy pop/the stooges and lcd soundsystem to the above list of bands.

Just to clarify it to everyone is insinuing i "took" the leadership like a rude dictator, I had the idea to make it. I found a name. I found a tag. Dazed is the co-founder. I always meant it in a biarchy way.

Things was something like: we played 1v1, a very very good game, one of the best i had, so i said to him. Listen, i want to creat a clan, here is my idea. And bla bla bla. Always did things toghter, i always set up games for both, and the decision about who joins or not was meant to be bilateral. Then some new players appeared from nowhere. I was thinking first to some impostors, then he said: oh, i made them join, don't worry.

I wasn't so happy about that but he said that he will teach and grow them up. I said ok.

Regarding my boots probably you missed when i said it in different games, and also on the chat. But whatever. The championship game you were talking about had even Dazed if i'm not wrong, so it was lost anyway.

[REGL] John i think you could save us your irony.

In the end, i have to apologize about bigby because i just forgot him. He wasn't one of those which i didn't tryed out, so you can consider yourself part of that list even if i don't think you'd like no more.
But it's ok, everyone is important, no one is needful.

For the joy of many, i'll tell you more about the "leadership" which you keep cricizing. Then clan was always someway divided between west time zone (america) and central time zone (europe). Divided in the sense that it was quite difficult to play toghter real time and to know each other or pass the infromation in a fast way. Falker is known by almos all of the euro zone WMs and i just wonder how comes that you never saw him. When i recruited him Dazed was inactive so yes, i haven't to consult anyone.

But when i started to see people which told me: X made me join. VaporX said that it's ok if i join and so on, i just couldn't see it.

It's not about capricious, it's not a dictature and also it's not a public shame. There is nothing bad to just MANAGE the clan in the way i think it's better. The forum is the fastest tool i have to do that. I never said that who is not in that list it's a shit they should be shoted. I said that they are those i think should be officialy in WM. You want a WM school? You want a WM trainy team? It's ok. We can do that. I personally can't do the personal things i have to do, but i never thought at something like this with people which feel offended and like i putted them on the public pillory.

In the end, my action wasn't so effective on the american side because of the timezone (i always set games with the WM i know they are active because i saw them here and there in real time games) and because, the most important i think, which always made hard to keep all toghter, is a "clan tool", a "clan page" or something like that, where you can see every member, who's in, who's not, who joined recently, public messages to all the members, and that stuff.

Until then... it's just like this. I tried with: msn, skype, facebook, external chat on tiny chat, chat of WL (there is only you x and I), i think i'll give a try even with VENTRILLO like clans do on the FPS. More than that i just can't. I can't play with everyone, i can't ask everyone how's going, i can't inform everyone about who left and who joined recently. For that i'll start to update my profile.

no need to swear man

but emm, why not hand over leadership to nobody when you were off?

cos well, as you seem to say, the clan went up the swanny when you were gone for a while, so why didn't you stop this by promoting somebody temporarily until you came back?

As i see it, here the story is in a nutshell:

Red makes a clan (it was his idea you know), he organises it, gathers some trusty members, goes for a while, lots of friends of friends join, red comes back, red is confused by loads of unknown members, red gets rid of half the clan, lots are people are annoyed by red, well known clan member leaves the clan, red defends his actions

better then any of the soaps on telly i think
