I agree with RvW, it's about playability. Decide on bonuses based upon what's best for actually playing the map rather than differring definitions of 'continent.' Certainly use them as guidelines but don't bind yourself to them. Gameplay comes first.

Okay, but whether it's implanted in the map or not:
Hawaii is an island (group) in the pacific ocean.
Islands in the pacific ocean are called Oceania.
Live with it.

I never knew Japan, the Galapagos and the Aleutians were part of Oceania...

1. Japan is not IN the pacific ocean, it borders it. It borders the sea of Japan on the western side.
2. The Galápagos are indeed part of Oceania.
3. The Aleutians are not IN the pacific ocean, they border it. They border the Bering sea on the northern side.

Oh, so there are imaginary borders delineating bodies of water now? Interesting?

Imaginary? I guess you could tell the same for land borders.

And, the Aleutian and Japan **could** be exceptions, but Hawaii clearly lies in the middle of the ocean, not on the edge.

Moros, my point was that things aren't always so cut and dried. Simply because an island is in the Pacific does not mean that it is part of Oceania just as being a US state/territory does not ensure it is part of North America.

There is great ambiguity in all such things.

Richard has it. These things are arbitrary in their nature, because they are man made concepts. Based upon real things, yes, but still our own inventions.

@ace windu people in warlight seem to get carried away they have a short attention span they will probably will forget what the thread is about if it has no title most threads there is a discussion going on about something different to the thread and warlight.
