Hello ;). This is no clan nor guild to be honest. But guild sounds cool. As we do not focus on playing games. We focus are attention mainly on maps, so it does involve strategy here and there. Here's the basic summary anyway:

Bio: The guild houses a band of talented, experienced and motivated map makers. We as a whole are determined to create top notch beutiful maps, designed to be visually appealing, well balanced, knowledgeable and contain strong strategical elements. We hope not to grow in an allround playground, but a potential revolutionary influential game changers to how map are made and looked upon.

Basically In proper English it states simply we are a group a players that group together to make top of the notch maps. To the best of our abilities. The real meaning of the guild is to have different views and opinions. But also when making the different aspects of the map, will be made by different players. Therefore in two ways: less work and more time and effort to put into your individual job. (No money, just volunteer, nice try).

Requirements are of high standards, I do expect some experience (of Warlight and map making, including Inkscape), knowledge and also determination and communication etc. More details are available if needed. If you have interest, please message me via the mail system. Thank you

Q&A
Who the heck are you?
I'm an alt...no really? Yes with experience of making maps, I personally would rather not reveal myself but I promise I've produced some high rated maps and hope to learn more if this were to go ahead.

No I'm not willing to pay and we will lose players already in clans. But there's a slight chance.

I don't really like this idea, as the map development forum already does quite what you described.

Why make an entity for this when in the forum, skilled Inkscape users can get ideas and help with balancing from the best of the WL community?

um I don't think I've told you enough. Or quite correctly...

Why make an entity for this when in the forum, skilled Inkscape users can get ideas and help with balancing from the best of the WL community?

You are absolutely correct there, however I failed to mention the community is still a major part of this guild. The forums are main the source of suggestions and player opinions.

Once more I failed to mention or not clearly say that, the guild operates under one account and only makes maps on that account.

Therefore in two ways: less work and more time and effort to put into your individual job

On each map everyone is given a job, whether it is design/Apperance , bonuses/territories, map editor, promotion etc.

Do you understand? Any questions?

1st project, if anyone's interested or joining:
Is a project for the community, therefore anyone that has an idea for a map please share. This is the first step of many, next wil be a poll of all ideas.

Note: despite being in the clans section, we are not i repeat not a clan.

What, getting ideas from the community is off-putting?

IMO it is a pretty good idea. Michelangelo is the Henry Ford of WL map making ;) You're bound to find some people who like the idea of making the map on Inkscape, but don't want to deal with the bonuses and stuff on WL. You'll find some people who will not want to do the Inkscape, but enjoy the bonus making. It should work, and should produce decent maps as players only work to their strong points in the process.

Perfect explanation Arun. Henry Ford is a massive compliment ;)

Of course Skunk the map ideas have to be approved, we can't just go on and make whatever the community say, for example an Orange, which would get turned down. If it was something more interesting with a map perhaps provided, we'd take it on.

The map making process shouldn't be rushed, the map idea has to be perfect. I'm only keen on making maps 4.0 +. Any lower I'd be prepared to redo for liking.

If you need some ideas, here's a decent thread: http://warlight.net/Forum/Thread?ThreadID=32822

Out of that map (and looking at some that have already been started in the thread), Sudan or Argentina may be a good choice

No the idea of publishing maps on a single account designed for the group is off putting.

Seems fair to me just because everyone in the group has a part in it. They would be prominently displayed on the clan profile and map description I'm sure. Maybe a tally next to each players name saying how many projects they have taken part in.

Spot on. On the official publisher account, every member will be named on the profile. On every map will have the list of makers on that individual project. Even on the map itself, names will be put in discreetly if possible.

Also the number of projects is a good idea, but it all depends whether anyone will be up to join.

It's a great idea for players like me, who are eager to make maps but don't have time to start learning the entire process. Could I join this? I could do menial tasks like territory naming or something :)

The idea sounds good, but then that ruins the purpose of allowing maps to be made by the community. If only 1 account is making nearly all new maps, why allow this option to even exist?

You still have people like Moros and Skunk making their own map. This community is for those with limited skills/time to band together to make a single badass entity.
