Any help or strategy is appreciated. I really dislike that map.

Taking a look at https://www.warzone.com/wiki/Commerce may be worth while.
Generally, in Commerce games, building cities is better in the long run but can reduce your expansion in the short term.

Build cities and kill off the enemy! easy!



Cities cost 0 while the enemy has 0 income and will not build cities, so just focus on keeping the enemy stack away from your cities.
