Right around the time of the WL -> WZ update I noticed I don't get a sound when it's my turn anymore. I can do without the "tics" when selecting how many armies to send, but I miss the "mwap" sound when sending an attack as well. Am I missing some obvious way to turn these back on?

Check your settings to ensure the "critical sounds" box is checked and the volume is not at zero.

Where can that setting be found? I do not see it on my account settings page or in the settings for an individual game.

From the app: Profile icon > Settings > check Critical Sounds.
Audio control is app/standalone-only as far as I know.

new interface is for babies im out goodbye after god knows how long
shame really was good with the old way and now there are to many wankers here now dictating to others how to play when really they are the ones who fail the most,and there has been no my turn sound since the change over hence why such a large boot rate

You need to be on unity to have that option I guess; Ujs simply has a mute/enable sounds option.
You can switch to flash to get the option, but playing in flash may sometimes freeze.
