Recently on the chat while analysing 1vs1 games there was a question about CA+SA cluster vs africa cluster, when some people argued the latter was safer. I responded to that, that africa cluster has problems with finishing last bonus, which in this game I succesfully exploited in net income, which gave me an opportunity to strike india. After that it was just capitalising on income advantage.

I think I had better picks considering we bordered on turn 1. Crucial mistake is not starting with smallest bonus (india in that example) when you border enemy on turn 1, it let me take SA easily.

Most wild game of them all, I pretty much had no idea what was happening most of the time, especially since we took many breaks. Actually I didn't know zibik picked caucasus untill the game ended, but that made sense since on most turns I gave him credit for more income than he actually had. Attacking through SA was very creative, but took a lot of time and potential expansion in the meantime. Trun 9 was critical (that's why you save OP cards), after that it took a while, but I was able to break him.


Overall great play by zibik, very small mistakes or non-standard game cost him the match. Waiting for other matches from premier league to end ;)

if only there were more games played on medium earth in this tournament.

Dagen double picked SA+CA but went into CA instead of SA. If you double pick a bonus you should really have it by the second turn. He didn't get his until turn three, probably because he feared the counter from Ant.
He also should have attacked into west russia on turn two because he knew I was there from picking. That probably would have won the game for him. As it went though, there was some back and forth between West russia and Scan until I knocked him out of russia and he surrendered.

A lot of smaller bonuses on this small map. I went for the small bonuses and Dagen went for a bigger bonus first. As a consequence I had a higher income throughout the game and I just had to capitalise on it.

On turn 5 Dagen let himself get knocked out of Mongolia and that was what cost him the game.
