What exactly does a clan do? How does a noob join a clan? Which clans are best? And who stole my pineapple?

Oh yeah, and if this were Call of Duty then my k/d would be a 1.6, is that good enough to be in a clan?

@Jefferspin, that was really rude.

@Challenger, there's a couple different kinds of clans to join

_Roleplay

_Strategy

_Diplo

Which are you interested in?

Plenty of clans devoted to that. Your best bet is to look at interesting clans, check the requirements to join, and mail the leader or anybody important about joining.

-most clans expect around 200 games played, and about 40%-50% win ratio

Challenger, I see your stats are coming from auto games that are filled with noobs and bad players. If you are looking to improve I suggest creating games with prerequesties. For example, only players with 50%+ win rate can join.

^At first, joining auto-games can help, as auto-games aren't filled with all new/bad players. In fact, auto-games are quite a mixed bag. My guess is that the best auto-gamers would be rated somewhere around 1700 on the ladder.

Granted, 62% off of auto-games isn't really an achievement due to the fact that there is more bad than good.

When i was a noob I played auto games and thought i was good because i beat around 70% of auto gamers, then i joined the ladder and got my ass kicked.

You're not going to become and excellent player by playing auto games, but it is a good place to start, especially before you've unlocked the ability to set prereqs and lower luck values.

Okay, I set up a template that has a 35% winning pre-req. I can't customize the strategic 1v1s yet, but I made it somewhat resemble the strategic settings

Unlike Riyanitie, I think some auto game players would be rated 1800 or higher. Teddy is primarily a realtime auto game player, and so was Giovanni and Schmidt. All 3 ended up in the top 5 of the ladder. It's rare though, and the average auto game player would probably be about 1250 rating on the ladder.

Lawlz, how is it rude to say look up a topic that is asked constantly. The forums are littered with crap that is asked multiple times. There is the search option for a reason. Also please don't get me started on what people say that is rude...I can use the search option and find plenty of the shit you spew.

Hey, it uses the same map and it's random warlords, that's two settings that are the same! XD

One guy I played in an auto game was Vanellope von Schweets, I think he was pretty high on the ladder but I forget the exact numbers

Here are my thoughts at the moment:

A.) You need to be a certain level to unlock higher pre-requisites. So, it shouldn't be a problem that he is playing not-so-great players at the moment.
B.) Auto-Games are a good way to learn the basics of the game (already said)
C.) Just playing Strategic 1v1 will help you get far. Many of the players only good at strategic 1v1 are very overrated, because they do well on the single-template 1v1 ladder. But try out some other settings as well (team-games for sure!)

Team games. Hmm. I'm in a 2v2 right now and it's pretty cool, but I don't think I'd do it with anyone who isn't a regular teammate of mine if that makes sense. And since I'm still pretty new to all this, you can imagine how many "regular teammates" I have :)
