I tried going for the obvious First turn bonus that did not have any great counter to. If I split the ftb I would end up with a combo in SA, or a possible counter to that combo, if that failed I would have a pick in Antarctica with back up/counter in Aussie.

6th pick mean you don't have 4th and 5th. I don't understand why you picked Aus as 6th, it won't do any good against your 4th and 5th (East Afr and Ant)

Blockade in Brazil turn 3 was a good option.
Also, I would capture east Africa before Central Russia.
