I just got back from holiday....whats with the auto zooming when playing turns

im not a fan of this at all...i generally use the down arrows to flick quickly through the moves and my screen now goes crazy!

I love your work Fizzer...you know that, but is there any way this can be put back?

Anyone else feel the same?

Check the update. Fizzer explains deactivating settings if you like.

I think it has it´s uses, but one thing that does bug me is in the World Map, it zooms in a tiny amount when the moves start, and I don´t think that´s really neccessary for that sized map.

Is there a way to make it zoom only when something is out of the scope of the screen, like with the airlifts, etc, but not to automatically zoom in?

Ah, it´s configurable just like I wanted it to be, wonderful!

In which case, what a neat feature!

I think that I would really like it for some maps, like Quad Earth or East Asia. Since I play and watch a lot of games on Medium Earth (which zooms in just slightly), then I find it more annoying than helpful. I turned it off as well.

The "don't move the camera" setting seems mostly useful for when you're focussing on one area of the map. Personally I'd never do that; it's way too risky, you might miss an opponent coming out of the fog somewhere. However, for watching history it certainly has its uses.

Problem is, going to the settings page every time is rather cumbersome. So now I'm wondering, am I the only one who thinks this new feature would greatly benefit from being controllable in-game? That would make it considerably more easy to toggle and suddenly I'd start using it.

If I get a couple encouraging replies I'll throw it on UserVoice. If you have other suggestions for settings which you'd love to toggle in-game, please say so as well, so I can include them in the suggestion (since this will require a change to the UI, it might be good to suggest everything in one go, so Fizzer can limit the number of times the UI has to be changed).

RvW, the don't move the camera setting is highly useful when looking at teammates orders and you are interested in one individual location..

I can't count the number of times I wanted to view a players locational orders to make sure it and mine will be relevantly correct, just to have the map pan over to someplace I have no interest in..

Is the below issue related to the auto-zooming:

When the title of the match is too long, the (Turn X) counter can't be seen as its covered by the map.

Perrin, I think you misunderstood my post. I completely agree with you the option can be very useful and valuable. However, I can't imagine playing a whole game with it; I'm proposing a way to easily switch from one setting to the other. (Where an "easy way" means not having to go to the site-wide settings and "permanently" changing it for all games.)

I'm imagining something like changing the menu in the lower left corner to split "Settings" in "Game Settings" (with the current menu behind it) and "Interface Settings", where you can toggle, for instance, how the camera behaves. That's also why I was asking for other people's opinions on what they would like to easily change in-game; otherwise that new menu will look so incredibly "empty". (Of course, if anyone has a better suggestion on how to access such a menu, that's very much welcome as well.)

BTW, two semi-related issue are that you can't look at a team mate's orders and your own at the same time and cannot easily step through orders in the planning phase.
Have you seen one of my other suggestions, ["Preview Orders" button in Confirmation Phase](http://warlight.uservoice.com/forums/77051-warlight-features/suggestions/2650223)? If it would show the corresponding order of each team member at the same time, we'd suddenly have an incredible planning/collaboration tool, especially if we can choose to already share our (planned) orders with team mates, but without committing them yet.
(If you show the, let's say, third order for each team member, it's impossible to know in which sequence those will occur (relative to each other), but all orders by all team member issued on earlier turns (in this case, turn 1 and 2) are guaranteed to have already taken place and all orders issued on later turns (here, turn 4 and onwards) are guaranteed to take place later.

---

John, I know the problem you're talking about, but as far as I know it's unrelated (would still be nice if it were fixed though, how about you make a thread in the bugs forum about it?).

I guess forcing some new settings without asking users is the best way of pissing them of and in effect losing some of them. I was so sick and tired with this new "feature" that I'm greatly happy to find out here finally how to get rid of this "upgrade"!!!! ARRRRGGGHHH!!!

Thanks for posting :) I got rid of it :) Finally!!!! :D
