Not sure if Fizzer has any interest in changing the forums, but this is how I would lay out them out (could be tweaked)...

The ones with ** would be larger containers for the forums, or groupings. The ones with - would be actual forums. This allows Fizzer to assign mods to a grouping or just a forum itself (makes permissions easier):

**General
-General Warlight
-Map Development
-Help/Bugs
-Off Topic

**Competition
-Ladders
-Leagues
-Tournaments
-CLOT
-Strategy

**Clans
-Clans
-'YourClan' (would be named "WG" or "WM", etc)

**Board Room
-Admins
-Mods

I feel like this would help a lot. General (right now) is basically a catch all for everything (ladder partner requests, which clan is best, anyone play 'x' game, etc.) All it does is discourage quality posting because your thread will get buried among the clutter. If he does bring in mods, there needs to be a place for them to discuss things (like trolling, etc), which is the reason for the Board Room (which would not be visible to non-mods).

And yes, I would still have the "ALL" option to view all forums if you wanted.

I agree with this. I would love to see changes. Also an option to block threads you don`t want to see, so you aren`t annoyed by them.

Good idea, especially mods.

A nice idea, but I don't think its really necessary or it really will do much help. We have so many filters already, off topic, general, ladder and clot, but really 90+% of the posts are in general. Most people (including me) don't even bother and just place it in the General forum.

Well some stuff is off topic but posted in general. For example the typing game thread. Had nothing to do with warlight. Moderation also allows for combining threads which eliminates clutter.

It also pulls out league and strategy discussions which get buried in general. It also pulls out clan talk so those that care nothing about them can avoid those threads

I think that if something is placed in the wrong forum mods should be able to put it in the right one.

On mine you could do that. Mods could not delete threads though. Instead they went to a trash forum if removed (because they were offensive for example). This way site admin could have a record of it

I agree and like the idea. A minor suggestion though. If people in Clans were given mod control over other clan forums that would defeat the purpose of them being merely clan forums. I suggest that if mods are introduced, then clan managers are given mod power over their own clan forums and if chosen by Fizzer over general forums, etc as well.

Lion, not sure where you got that from. Clans forum would be open to anyone to post in. Moderated by Fizzer appointee. YourClan would be same forum you have now, but would only be visible to those in official clan and would be moderated by clan leader

Chris that was directed at your comment about mods in the Lawlz thread. I didn't realize that you didn't mention mods here. What I was saying was that for example if Fizzer chose you as one of his mods, you're a part of WG. Thus, another clan say [20] wouldn't want you to have access to their forums so rather wouldn't it be better to give clan managers mod power over clan forums?
I don't think that I made much sense here, it works better in my mind :P

^Yeah. I understood what you said Lion, I did not understand why. I never suggested an individual clan forum would be visible to anybody but members of the clan (and moderated by them). My intention was to create an additional Clan Forum for anyone on warlight to post in. They could issue challenges, ask about joining a clan, etc.

Yeah, I was just explaining what I meant. My bad, I didn't realize that you meant a seperate Clan Forum. I see what you mean though. It's a pretty good idea.
