If you have any remarks on the map, post them here. A second map will follow later on with more detailed languages.

Maybe you could do language maps for other continents too if the Europe Languages map turns out really successful? I think that would be interesting :)

I don't know of any other places where the languages are distributed evenly. In South America and Africa there are zillions of them, and in North America everyone speaks English. Perhaps Eastern Asia would do.

Only China has more than 100 different forms!

But those are forms, I think if we are talking about languages you could only separate Cantonese and Mandarin, and maybe a few others.
Where's TexasJohn when you need him? Or any other Chinese?

For another map, I could follow this table:

http://www.ethnologue.com/ethno_docs/distribution.asp?by=size.

It shows every language with over 3 million speakers. (listing 12 variants of Chinese with >3mill speakers :) ) The downside would be that I should make the map myself.

Also, http://www.ethnologue.com/show_map.asp?name=World&seq=10 shows that doing America, Africa or Asia would be way too difficult.
