As a counter, note that there has been no MLB, NBA or NFL thread over the past year at least. Thus, the fact that an NHL thread even exists can be taken as proof that it is the most popular sport (not true) and has the most loyal fans (true)

Actually I think a forum on a warring game site is pretty decent place to judge interest in hockey. A hockey site would be a bad site because people are there to talk hockey, so there will be people talking hockey. Warlight is a completely neutral site with little bias (unless you are counting nationality, which I would argue would actually favor hockey). People go to Warlight to mostly play Warlight, and would only engage in a hockey discussion if they like hockey. Compare and contrast with the soccer (football, sorry yall) thread, and it echoes the well-known fact that soccer (football, sorry yall) is quite a bit more popular than hockey.

Granted, its not as good as comparing hit counters on hockey vs. other sports pages, but I think it's not bad.

Typesomething... both baseball and basketball are far more popular than hockey and American football dominates it in the states.

Yet there is a hockey thread and none for those three...
