I wish to respectfully offer a suggestion regarding these forum posts about why certain people deserve to be blacklisted.

I think some people may be a little "blacklist-happy" on occasion. Sure, the guys in the aforementioned game were a little rude, however, I do not think their actions warrant being indefinitely denied access to games with certain people.

I will only blacklist somebody if their offences seem to be persistent to such a degree that would consistently inhibit me from playing and enjoying games with them. A single offense does not compel me to blacklist somebody. Usually, the offenders are quite new, meaning they have time to mature as a player and become familiar with the more common game etiquette. I'd hate to miss out on meeting them as a more developed player because I deemed an early minor offense of theirs to be unforgivable.

If you really don't think you could ever happily play another game with a player, then go ahead, blacklist them at your own discretion. Why, though, would you feel a need to try to compel others to also blacklist them? There is surely a sense of power that comes with being able to blacklist a player, and moreso when you realise you can influence others to do so also. I'm just concerned at whether this can really be justified in many situations involving some personal grievance.

Here's just a little shout-out for being objective and fair to players who are also imperfect yet ever-developing human beings. Maybe some people deserve a second chance before having their reputation irreparably damaged by being publicly judged on how they acted on some occasion.

Personally I haven't used the blacklist yet, so I'd like to ask your (and other people's) opinion on this. Would it be useful to add an option to the blacklist where you blacklist people for a certain amount of time (when the timer expires, they are automatically removed from your blacklist)? Would you ever use such functionality?

I agree with you on your post. You are completely right. (in my opinion) My reputation was tarnished with a war light player accusing me of cheating and getting people to black list me. I realized my mistake and apologized but it doesn't change anything.

Poseidon, your reputation was tarnished when you decided to drastically change a bonus value and not bother to inform anyone in the game title. Thus, any damage to your reputation was self-inflicted and was not caused by an upset opponent.

Its peoples choice to read the settings sharp. Their responsibility even. You cant get super mad at a player because you didn't read the settings.
