I wanted to get into map-making, so I took on the task of making "Medium Earth" with only hex territories. There is an added bonus in the NorthEast of the map, made from the previous 4 neutrals, which should slightly tweak the strategies, but mostly this was just for fun and to learn. I'd love any feedback and anything I missed (connections, names, etc). I made this map in 4 hours and 50 minutes, so it may not be perfect. I'm not going to test it until tomorrow, however.

Sweden is spelled wrong, Great Planes should be Great Plains and Ethiopia got Egypt's connections to Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Interesting idea. Though I find it much harder to interpret with all the line connections. Visually it doesn't flow like normal ME, even if it is the same exact function.

ya but not flowing creates a challenge... My guess is that that map will be harder to play than normal ME

Thanks master.

And yeah, it is a bit difficult to tell what's going on at first, although while playing with it, it seems to have gotten easier. My favorite part of it is the new bonus though, as the original 3-drops are always contended. My only fear with it is that it might make the Asian area less stable and have more picks, as there's a cluster of value picks there.

Updated version. Triple-check all connections, triple-checked that they're correct to the original map, fixed a couple centers, fixed E. Africa, and published.

There's already been something very similar to this:

Although it is regular earth, not medium earth.

Thanks Nightshade, I was already aware of that map.

My map is in no way meant to be "original". It's instead meant to be a competitive-level map that is fun and I could learn map-making on. My next map will indeed be original. Also, There are many differences between my map and that one. The first being, as you said, that they're based on two completely different maps. The second being that mine is much more "correct" to the original, having the same territories and connections, other than the small change with the old neutral territories. Also, my map is visually much different and keeps the general high-level of strategy of the original, which has always been 'the' standard map to play on (not saying best).

Well put Moros, although to be fair, many of those I got from the original Medium Earth map, and I dispute Danmark Havn as I've seen both, so I'm not quite sure which is correct. To be safe, I went with what the original map has.

Nice work so far eagle :D

Moros is correct about Danmarkshavn btw, it's the name of a small weather station.

oh well, I've already submitted it, and it doesn't matter a whole lot, and it's also that way on the Medium Earth (Fizzer) map.....so I'm gonna say even if it's not perfect, it's up to standard xD

with all of the connections it will make guessing that much harder... and more strategic as they can come from any direction

Not quite sure what you mean gg. There are the same amount of connections, it just looks more complicated because the territories are separated.
