What are the standards for voting to end when you're playing with more than two teams, but only one team has lost a player?
Here's a game:
http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=2206188
One player from team B got booted, and thus the remaining player wanted to vote to end. I didn't agree, because there still were teams A and C, and they shouldn't have to suffer from one guy's bad luck.

I've seen some crappy things happen to individual teams in multi-team games, but I've never once seen a game VTE because of it.

It's fine if people want to do it, and the fewer teams and less turns the more it makes sense to do it. Once you're talking 12 teams of 2 or something, somebody is going to get screwed early on. VTE every time it happens would kill the genre.

What I find interesting about the game is the fact that Fuhrer has the entire top of the map to himself... He almost certainly would have won that game.

I would have voted to end.

What's the point in playing if it's unfair right from the outset?

I don't see how the two remaining teams are suffering if they vote to end, it'll take at most 5 minutes to remake the match with a fair startup.

Just because only 1 team out of 3 has a disadvantage doesn't change the fact that it's unfair. It's not impossible like a 2-team game, but it's still unfair.

But obviously, if there are more than 3 teams, you're going to have to expect some people will get booted throughout the course of the game.

If you don't have anything invested (first few turns) then you can quit... with the exception of when someone's clearly beat out of the gate.

Typically in manual Full Distributions, the guy places his picks, then on turn 1 realizes he got beat and leaves. That doesn't warrent a VTE.

But don't get too worked up about just surrendering if they don't take a VTE. I'd rather quit and take a loss than lose sleep over the non-VTE.

I once had a small earth game with 12 teams of 2. My ally was booted right from the start. I was still one of the three remaining players in the end, though. Losing a teammate is tough, especially in smaller games, but your opponents are going to suspect you to be weaker and will focus on the others instead. Use this to your advantage.

Of course, I wasn't going to go check this game out until I read that post. Thanks for the heads up, Yoshi.
