Didn't see this when I did a search, but it would be cool to have a card that reveals total unit count and units per turn. Basically if you click the "Players" button it would fill in that information for the turn regardless of Fog.

You wouldn't see where they are, just how much they have.

there's a card that allows you to see all of the territories and troop counts of a selected player. This card allows you to see what there income is.

Yes, there are a few cards that let you see people's areas, but it's different from what he's asking.

With the Spy card, you can see one person's territories through the fog.
With the Reconnaissance Card, you see a territory and it's surrounding ones through the fog.
With the Surveillance Card, you see one bonus through the fog.

With the card he's proposing, you won't see through the fog, but the players tab will display the actual income/territories/armies on board, despite the fog. (Instead of "incorrect" numbers like "0?") This provides different information than the three cards already implemented above.

Exactly. It is much different than current cards. Helpful in a board with lots of players where you just want to know the current balance of the game.

This would be great for ffa's

it's like the Spy card....only less useful. The spy card also shows how many they're getting per turn....

This card would also show how much a person's getting per turn, as that's one of the columns in the players tab. So, the three things this card would give...

- Income/Armies per turn of all opponents.
- Current armies on the board for all opponents.
- Current territory count for all opponents.

Ultimately, whether a Spy Card is better than this new proposed card depends on the number of players, as well as the type of fog.

It isn't as detailed as a spy card b/c it doesn't show you every territory. It just tells you how many armies everyone is getting a turn. Most ffa's don't have enough spy cards to use on everybody so it's hard to know what's going on on the other side of the map. This tells you how powerful everyone is and can be helpful when deciding who you should ally/attack. This would stop games from having 1 person go unchecked all game long and winning with little effort. People would stop fighting each other and gang-up on the big guy for a little while making for better, longer games.

It's not about 1 card being better than another, it's about that card being useful or not. This would serve a separate function than the spy card, and the spy card would still be every bit as important as it is now.

I'm not trying to knock your idea, I'm just saying that in my opinion, it's not different enough fro the spy card for there to be a reason to have both, and that being the case, the spy card is (again, in my opinion) more useful and therefor important.

since this card is supposed to include all information on the *player* screen.. it could be insurmountably useful to calculate the amount of neutral space still remaining.. it would be nearly as useful in a 1v1 as a spy card, and overall more useful then a spy card in ffa's

@Eagle:
The difference between this new proposal (btw, anyone thought of a cool, *clear*, **descriptive** name yet?) and he current spy card is certainly a lot bigger than the difference between the reconnaissance and surveillance cards...
Regarding the question which one is more useful and/or more important, I'm with Dazed * Insane: it entirely depends on the situation.
