Yes, I'm making a Morrowind map for the third time. This time I want it to be playable, unlike the previous ones :)

It was a surprise for me, but the number of territories grew until it almost reached 1500. I might change the map to make this number a little bit smaller, but first I need to test it in order to know where to make those changes.

Unlike my previous 2 maps, this map won't have almost any special features or "windows". There is a council system - but unlike my previous maps, it is the well-known and good-working council system of Dameon's and Limalia's Westeros maps. (There are about 65 bonuses for every combination of the 6 council seats! It doesn't matter how many seats you hold - you always get only one bonus, the biggest among the ones you own.) There is also a teleportation ring, but I don't think it will cause any problems. On the contrary, I hope they will make the mountainous island more interconnected.

Right now I finished making the main map and naming the territories. I also finished naming and setting up the first-level bonuses. Currently, I'm working with superbonuses. My goal is to make a system of superbonuses that will be good both for strategic games and diplomacies. The overlapping conflicting bonuses can be important for diplomacy games, as I picture them, but I want to make them work for FFA or team games too.

The main way of playing the map will probably be team/ffa games of about 6 players with 2 or 3 starts each. The main distribution includes 18 starts and the superbonuses are set up around those starts. That is why other starting locations probably won't work well with this superbonus system... Still I included an "SB" tag in the names of all superbonuses so that it will be easier to turn them off and I will probably make a distribution that includes all the towns and cities.

All comments, opinions, critique and advice very welcome :)

Well, I've finished assigning the superbonus values in the previous verion and it is ready for testing... But I fear that the superbonus system is not simple enough. And I don't get any feedback :(
So I've made another map version and I'm remaking the superbonus system from scratch. Now I'll try to tie it to the geography much more than in the previous version.

I was experimenting with map color. I tried to make a map looking like it is written on paper... It didn't work. Still I created 2 svg files - one gray and one sepia.

The main problem is the colored bonuses - they ruin the overall ink-on-paper impression. And there is no way a map can exist without them...

Gray version:

Last colored version (WIP):

Anyway, I decided to use the sepia versions of the faction emblems, since the colored emblems drew too much attention away from the main map.

P.S. I added 2 more factions only because it makes easier to create a simple superbonus system this way. In fact, I didn't add them - I split them away from their parent factions. Buoyant Armigers - Morrowind equivalent of the Night's Watch - were part of the Tribunal Temple. The Nerevarine Cult was part of the Ashlander Tribes.

P.P.S. Oh, I think I forgot to announce here that I already played a testing game (real-time) and decided to scrap the old complex bonus system.

2 testing games are currently on. Found a lot of broken connections already :)
Also, I'm polishing the bonus borders.

The last testing game is almost finished and I will soon publish the map. So this is your last chance to make any comments that will influence the first edition of the map ;)
