Civil War:

• Redo borders to make them overlap between territories and adjacent between bonuses.
  
• You can add spaces in bonus names! Just make them without spaces in Inkscape, but add the spaces when naming the bonuses in Warlight.
  
• Give territories meaningful names. It's not that hard, just find the largest town it contains and name it after that.
  
• Give the bonuses a unique colour, perhaps like this: http://warlight.net/SinglePlayer?PreviewMap=29360
  
• Optional: make bonuses of 1 for each city (no need to add links for them all, just say somewhere on the map there's a bonus for each city worth 1)
  
• Rework the lines indicating connection between ships and the shore, right now they're unclear.

I should rename the "Civil war" WL map by just " American civil war "

Thank you for the input so far. Tweaking the 3 of them right now. I have names for all the territories of the civil war map, just put in others for speed to check all my links. I will correct that. As for Zelda map, I guess I just missed that there was one. I try to search for each map I make a few ways before I start.

I do not know my way around Inkscape - but have map ideas and examples (mostly geometry stuff right now) I am even making a board game version of a map on plywood (since I could not let the ideas behind it slip away while I struggled with Inkscape, I had to do something!) which is nearly completed.
The problem with my wooden game board is that there is a theme to the design, the variations of which I'd have to do over again from scratch every time for each one! (also in the "real world" I know very few people who play Warlight types of games, so my efforts in this will not be rewarding in the long run - since the whole idea hinges on sharing the results)
On the plus side it is good practice - getting from idea to design to product.

If you are not interested in the geometry style games, which is my current craze, that's cool.

I suppose I could post a request for assistance/collaboration or tutorial aid with my Inkscape issues...

Link me the samples and I will play around with them.
