^While that is all true, China was not in the TPP. The TPP was an attempt to create a unified free trade area in the pacific including Aus, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam.

The idea was the create an anti-china economic union in the mold of the EU which is an anti-russian economic union.

When Russia misbehaves (like when they took Crimea) EU sanctions cripples its economy while countries that do lots of business with Russia, like Finland, can lean on the EU for short term support.

TPP was designed to keep China in check in, just like Russia, in exchange for outsourcing American jobs.

America "Hey, guys. We will let you sell products in America with no tariff and take our jobs in exchange for following our orders on foreign policy."

The TPP was disgusting for everybody involved and I am glad it died. Both economic and foreign policy decisions should be made by the people who live in their countries.

When face with the choice between "giant douche" or a "turd sandwich" I vote for the guy in the funny hat. If more voters would follow that course of actions so that we could move away from a two party system I feel we would be better off.

As someone who did not vote for either, I will point out keeping the balance on the Supreme Court has been Trumps greatest achievement so far.

In the grand scheme of things, Presidents are just figureheads. Obama might have run on health care but it was Pelosi and Reid that got it passed. We had eight years of Obama that was going to cause the fall of the US but we are still here. We can take four to eight years of Trump without the end of the US.
