Confused about Tip: 9/1/2017 08:49:56

The tip I see sometimes is "Tip: You generally want to attack with at least twice as many armies as the defender has", I follow this-but seeing what my opponent does I am confused.

Is it not necessary to always attack with twice the amount of armies? When I attack 2 armies in neutrals with 4, my opponent attacks with 3 and still gets it. So should I follow the tip or not?

The games are shown on my page.

Well, Round(1/[Attack Killrate]) sounds way more confusing than what the tip is saying.

the tip is remnant of old days, when games where played with different settings with more luck involved. Don't follow the tip, especially if you know what are you doing.

The tip is primarily referring to attacking other players.

Even then though, attacking an enemy with more than 117% of the number of their defending armies is typically profitable.
