If I could just grab the little bar on the side and scroll that way it would be awesome.

3 or 4 days into a world war diplo and it already takes too long to scroll through a fully downloaded chat. Help us creator!

The Unity app has a scrollbar that can be grabbed, so this is already fixed in the upcoming version of the app.
