So, I've made a couple levels in the community section of single player, but I don't want to publish them, I just want to share them with my friends, so they can try them out. Do I have to publish them? Can I send them a link, or would I have to give them my account password, and such? Thanks!

Sure, click on the name of the level and you'll find a "Play" link you can share with them.
