I like big real time games, and I sometimes have problems to fill them.

would it be possible to see how many players are connected?

thanks!

What do you mean with "connected"? How many players are actually online? How many active?

Hmm, that's possible, but it wouldn't be more than an approximation, since not every active player is currently playing a realtime game, and lots of players are playing realtime, but haven't looked at their screens for 10 minutes, or don't want to play a second one at the same time.

Also there's one more factor to consider. When I play real-time games, sometimes one player has to go for some reason. Then if we know all the players in the game we change it to multi-day (but it still is in fact a real-time game).

I'm not talking about perfect numbers, just to know if it's a good moment to start a good big game.

there's more than that as people need to like the settings, map, etc.

I guess the only option is to just start a game and see how soon it fills. If it takes a while, maybe cancel it or in the mean time play another short game?

Plenty of sites have this. It's pretty simple to code and to implement - a counter refreshes to see actions taken by members. If a member has taken action in x minutes (normally 10-15) they are considered "online." If not, they are considered "offline." It may not be perfect, but it gives a decent approximation.

I think this would be a good feature to implement.
