Just thought I would share it here and see if anyone else had any thoughts on the concept or how it could be improved :)
"Anyway heres what I wrote..
An idea for a new mode I thought could be quite a bit of fun...
To be used within FFA's or team FFA's. The idea is which ever player/team that has the biggest income per turn is put at a visual disadvantage which can help bring about the "Downfall' element.
This could be done either making that player's territory visible to all other players (Light Fog) or by displaying an icon next to their name for others to see (say a crown). If the player with the highest income changes the modifier will switch to whoever the new highest earner is.
What I posted above is quite a simple example of the concept. (an analogy for it is to think of it like the automatic loser catch-up speed boost you get on Mario Kart if you are doing badly :P) The concept is to level the playing field mid game so that those who are winning may find it quite difficult to close the game off as all the others gang up on them or potentially see several switches of power. Also sneaky things like stacking could come into play nicely.
It will require tweaks like only being enabled once a player has X% more income than the next player to work well. Otherwise players who get their bonus in the 1st turn will be at a huge disadvantage having all their territories shown when in reality they are not really ahead. Also it may favour certain types of maps probably large maps with relatively low income bonuses (not tested obviously so could be spectacularly wrong on this).
