Hey everyone it's been a while since I've played any 1v1 games and I'd like to try and get back into them if I could. Here's my most recent 1v1 game:

Is there any advice I could get on how to improve my 1v1 games?

You need 6 picks. Your opponent can make 3 picks, you can make 3 picks, so you'll need 6 total picks if your opponent takes 3 of your picks.

North Africa is a 3 bonus with 5 territories, while Central America is a 3 bonus with 4 territories. Try picking more efficient bonuses.

things i could (but wont) improve on:
making positive coments to other person's threads

Turn 9 abandoning Mali seems like a waste. The blockade was not a bad idea, but using so many armies was, a wasteland with +- 25 armies on it is rarely taken, so you could`ve used like 7 armies, transfering the other 8 to another territory and being able to use them later on. You went to East Russia, while you should`ve start heading towards SE-Asia and E-China. The possibility of him being there was very big.

I`m not sure but I think that playing your Order delay card first thing as turn makes all your moves go later, making it so that when he also plays an order delay card, your orders will still be last.
If you both have turns ABCDE and you both want to have E as last turn then both playing the turn like this ABCD-OD-E will give a random person the last move, while if he plays ABCD-OD-E and you play -OD-ABCDE then the random move will be if his E goes before or after your A, then the rest of your moves (so BCDE) come. Once again I`m not sure about it, but I think it works like that. (*OD = Order Delay Card)

You need to change the color. Some certain colors are known for improving luck and intelligence and yellow is not one of them.

Work on a forum persona with charmisma, so people will care about the questions you ask in your shitty threads. A pronouncable name or interesting simple pic are a good start.

One big flaw that I saw is that you were attacking him whenever you saw him, not thinking to defend your own territories. You lose more armies by attacking.

Thanks Apex and Min for your help. I especially liked the constructive criticism you gave Min. I'll be using this to help in future 1v1 games.

@Dead Piggy I used to respect you as a player because I had known you to be a great 1v1 player that I had looked up to. Perhaps I'll start respecting you again after you learn some respect/get a better attitude.
