http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=4986456I'm glad there was a lot of controversy about this game, because on face value I thought Gnuffone and Beelz easily had won this when I looked through their ladder wins.
Longhouse, I have to say.. this is one of the most impressive 2v2 game I've seen in a long while. Your picks and play are almost 100% perfect. The only flaw was when Moto slammed 9 into Aus but tbh I don't know if I see it as a flaw or a good play by Beelz. Had Beelz tried to expand, you would've stopped him, which was really valuable in your aspect because it would end the game right there. You had income advantage so it's not like crashing into his stack was a big deal.
In the beginning of the game, when I saw you blockade AA I smiled. You knew you were gonna lose there, running wasn't an option and eliminating Gnuffone was obviously a more enticing option. The blockade forces Beelz to be stuck at 13 income which is enough for you and moto to handle with Gnuffone eliminated with your 16 income combined. Brilliant play. Did you actually calculate that out? Or did you just kinda make the move because it seemed to be a good option at the time?
You show great control of the map and realizing that 2v1 is the best option whenever you can apply it. Moving Moto into Indo was a great move, and believe it or not, not 100% obvious. I might've made the mistake of just letting Moto expand in EC and use Thailand as a defensive barrier until the income advantage kicks in a stack big enough to beat Beelz. However, this option was obviously much better. It stalls Beelz by 1 turn both in expansion and in moving against SEA. This means the next possible time Beelz can move against you is when Gnuffone is eliminated, even if he wins first order the turn prior. Stunning.
I hope you do well playing with Falker in 2v2 and rank highly. It would be a shame for you only to be a great puppeteer.
