Europe is a big landweight. Some of its lands (Russia, Italy, Ukraine: together ~30% Europe's population) are clearly worse than America, some are more or less equal (Germany, Britain, France: together also about ~30% Europe's population), and some minorities (Iceland, some other Nordic countries) are clearly better.

I've never been to America, so I can't say, but this seems like borderline racism...I'd be very reluctant to say that half a whole colossal country is jerks.

Don't worry, Russia and Ukraine beat America in terms of bad politicians. Although even they beat out America in transparency - no whistleblowers had to say it when Russia started tapping all the telephones, the Russian government said it.
Plus even with the terrorist attacks France is way safer than the US. Seriously, the murder rates of last year went from 1.2 per 100k to 1.6 because of the attacks. America's murder rate is 4.2
Are you under any threat of murder in either country? You'd have to know at least 25k folk in America in order for that to affect one of them likely.
