I searched and found an old thread for this map. it discusses holding down south, holding the island, then working around the top. I have tried this map many times with failure. After a while of my advancing with high troops, blue takes over the rest of the whole map and therefore is able to annihilate me. Now I did get unlucky and lose my commander where I may have been able to keep his numbers up a little higher, but when blue starts marching around with 75 and I only get 34 per round, I don't see how I'm supposed to win. I would attack him if I could, however at the end of the game i see he is half-way around the island perfectly safe.

Anyone else approach this with success? What am I doing wrong?

Don't take it on head to head. Sends a stack across the middle to seek and destroy the commanders

Thanks. I have tried that 4 times now. I am wondering how long I need to sit at the end of the island. I've tried too keep moving forward, but they wear me down. I've tried waiting and let them fight in that area, and I build up to 27 with commander, then half way across they sneak out into the island and come at commander with 21. Do I need to wait in the island until I get like 45 built up?
