So the only way you can possibly justify holocaust, is through supremacist thinking?

GeneralPE, you can either be supremacist or Christian, but not both.

Do we not all have one father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously each against his brother so as to profane the covenant of our fathers?

This is not a character attack. If GeneralPE makes a moral argument, and is hypocritical with it, I can call him out.

I'm not ignoring his argument, his argument is that Americans are better than Japanese folk. If I quote a passage from his holy book, he either must admit that his argument is wrong or that he is an apostate and guilty of heresy.

It's essentially evidence that his position is immoral. If he wasn't or is not a Christian, it's not, because the bible has no bearing on his morality. But if he is Christian, and it says that supremacism is immoral, it means that the most moral being is anti-supremacist, and therefore supremacy is immoral.

Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Jesus was fully capable and willing to have a meal along side unbelievers, not threaten , cajole and kill them.

Because those people didn't intend to kill him, the same cannot be said of the Japanese.

The Japanese had already proposed a treaty. A peace treaty implies that peace would be preferable to war for the Japanese, and it implies this because they would not send a peace treaty if they would prefer war. Therefore, it is a question of peace or war, and Jesus favors peace.

Regardless of prior intentions they attacked America.

Jesus when addressed by his followers about a village that had been inhospitable to them, said that he had come to :
“to save men’s lives, not to destroy them.”

Note, Jesus forgave the Romans that had wronged them, and even disarmed a follower of his that chopped of a soldier's ear, and healed it.

The Romans were attacking him, they were whipping him and torturing him. He still forgave them. And he said this:
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.

Christians are supposed to act like Christ, and to follow what he said. Many Christians martyred themselves. And besides, that was a direct message, supporting peace makers.

Also:
But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

Except if they accepted the surrender, there wouldn't be any killing. Like Jesus would have wanted, with evidence from here:

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.

And Jesus and the martyrs did allow others to kill them.

There wouldn't be killing if America accepted a non-unconditional surrender. Japan's military was in too poor of a state to do serious damage, especially after demobilization.

What a tragic accident.

Still I hope the coalition increases airstrikes on ISIS scum.

No I'm not, I'm realistic. Only idiots think that certain militaries are exempt from barbarity and cruelty.

Why? So some ISIS members can be killed, only to strengthen ISIS propaganda against the west and ultimately radicalise more people in Western society and recruit them to ISIS, resulting in a net benefit for ISIS?

No thanks.

The French military is a modern military with an aim to avoid civilian casualties. They are fighting terror and know the consequences of bombing civilians. They would never purposefully bomb them.

Airstrikes must continue so that ground forces have effective air support to help them win against ISIS. Coalition air support is vital to allied ground forces like the Peshmerga and SDF. It provides valuable intel and successful airstrikes can clear the way for a ground offensive. This has helped in the recent fall of ISIS.

Despite this I think that the French and Americans may need to be more careful. They should follow the lead of the British RAF who have not caused civilian casualties for many years.

What year it is does not matter. Militaries throughout history have always done this, it makes no sense for them to change their relationship to citizens of a hostile land just because of the year. If this was true, there wouldn't be dozens of cases of rape among French soldiers towards young women and men in the Central African Republic.
