Yes, you'll be unified by democracy in a undemocratic empire that would crush dissent with military force and would lead you on military escapades that would cause war with Russia (which ever one Brussels pisses off) which will create a stagnating conflict in Russia that ends with a eventual withdrawal from the occupied areas or a war with the US ending in bombs over Berlin. Then again, both could end in strategic nuclear exchange anyway.

And before you question either scenarios, remember, the EU is moving east and absorbing more and more countries. Do you think that Brussels will just stop at Minsk and Kyiv? And on the US point, do you think the US government will leave and give up it's European Empire it has crafted over decades?

++ He's not a dumb nationalist. Scottish independence combined with membership in the EU would certainly mean a win-win situation for Scotland itself. Trading with Scotland would be much more efficient than with England in European perspective. English goods would be sold with more difficulty since Europe would tax them more while Scottish goods would be exported with less problems and cheaper, making it more interesting for former British companies to move there. Scotland's economy would skyrocket. No doubt for that. Also, ideologically Scotland is way more liberal than England which would fit perfectly in the European Union. In my point of view, Scotland has nothing to lose if it becomes independent.

The EU isn't going to be an alliance for long, it's been a stated goal from the beginning to eventually become a full fledged federal government. Scotland isn't going to be a member in it, it's going to be a province. And this assumes the EU even survives all the exits coming.

Also, your arguments all rely on the EU being a prosperous trade bloc, when even the leadership admits it's a dying one.

90% of Scotland's trade is with England, nothing you just said made any sense.

Personally though I can't wait for them to leave so they can finally shut the heck up about it, like we can ignore Ireland. Scotland should have left in the last vote we gave them but were too stupid to leave. They should have left and joined the EU on their own terms, now they are backed into a corner that they created and somehow want sympathy? I don't think so.

Thank you for giving no evidence to the otherwise, or reasons why this scenario won't play out.

MAte, that's not how it works, you have to prove it first before it can be disproven. In other words put your magic globe away and stop pretending to know fuckal.

Give me some reason why a militarized EU wouldn't find conflict with the RF. I've given reason why they will (the EU expanding into old Soviet territory, Juncker adamant about "defending" European values, a EU army being a replacement for NATO, and the EU adamant about supporting the Ukranian government), please, give some reason besides "haha, you're saying that something might happen that hasn't happened yet, you are dumb" , and saying that me speculating somehow equates to me having a crystal ball.

You sir, (I'm going to assume you are a sir) have proven yourself to be an amazing, might I say even EXQUISITE professional in the art of Fortune Telling. I am absolutely sure that my puny guesses & wild assumptions over the future of the EU will be of even lesser value to you than the current British Pound Sterling.

I am also extremely confident that you, with your massive intellect coming from your mystic crystal ball, have already found out what my pathetic excuse for an answer might be to your valid question. As of now, me providing an answer would only waste your time, time which you can spend far more useful, for example contacting Mr. Obama to enlighten him with your expertise.

(Also nobody here is saying you're dumb or laughing at you, quite the contrary actually sir!)
