The format is the following:
Reportee (reporter) - reason, link to game

I'll scout the forum for the most recent reports, but feel free to report, preferably with links. You may confirm other people's reports, I'll list them all in that case.

malukaz (Dariush) - booting, http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1389606

Grzesiekd (Ghostly Prince, Emperor B) - messing with settings, http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1390055, http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1394485

vostro (Jakalen) - booting, no link

עם ישראל חי!!! aka lion (Dariush) - dragging out games, refusing to surrender after everyone else did, http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1388126

Joker (Neuner) - booting, no link

Psychodelic[PL] (Dariush) - dragging out games, refusing to surrender, booting, http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1385772

Garet Sax (BSFel) - dummy player, http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer.aspx?GameID=1394919

Oh great. A witch hunt!
Want me to gather the mob for you? Pitchforks & torches etc.?
:-)

I don't think there is much to learn from such a blacklist, because what one player regards as "offensive" (e.g. booting at first possible moment) is regarded as "fair play" by others (why are people dumb enough to bring themselves in a position where they can be booted? Especially with the new vacation system in place?)
Other things - like your "dummy player" accusation, may well be true, yet cannot be proven.
So the only valid entries in your blacklist would be those because of abuse and foul language etc., and even that is often disputable.

Just blacklist those who annoy you and get over it.

I personally won't blacklist people for booting, and definitely not for being a "dummy player". Even though they may ruin the game and be rude about it, they still didn't really break any rules. Though I usually avoid these issues by making or joining auto boot games.

And I think "messing with settings" is a loosely defined term. People say I "cheat" by making weird settings such as mass air lifts and such. The beauty of this game is that you can create any type of game you want, and refusing to play people who tried to gain the system by "messing with settings" isn't really my style.

Unfortunately, this is the internet, and many people have bad sportsmenship when it comes to online gaming because of the anonymity among people. And I think blacklisting people who don't play nicely is a temporary and bad solution to the problem.

So what do you guys think, is blacklisting really going to solve anything? I think just because you black listed them, doesn't mean they will stop playing the they do. And it won't stop you from playing against new players who do the same thing.

A couple of clarifications - by 'booting' I meant booting on the moment timer expires without any warning, and 'dummy player' is not bad player, but an account that was created only to help someone else get victories.

In my opinion, blacklisting people probably won't help, especially if there's a lot of people who ignore such behaviour, but having such a list will allow anybody who doesn't like his games spoiled by booters, draggers-out (or whatever) and screwed settings to take one look at the forums, blacklist all offenders and play with clean conscience without needing to worry about his game being spoiled. Which is the goal I have in mind, not preventing those listed from continuing doing whatever they got listed for.

Booting when possible is perfectly fine. People only get angry if they were stupid enough to get booted. The only reason for complaint would be if you had a delay such as a technical issue that you informed your opponent of and he/she still booted you at the first moment.

*messing with settings*
blacklisting only stops them from joining your games, not the other way around.. blacklisting these players would be utterly pointless for the goal you are attempting to complete

*booting -namely at the boot time-*
If you don't want people to be booted at the boot time in games you make.. make the boot time longer? /facepalm

*Dragging out games*
while annoying at times.. It is each players job to surrender when they feel they've lost..

*Cursing and being rude to people*
Sorry, thought I would put this one in here.. I checked both your dragging out games links and figured that you're lucky not to have been reported yet, so I'm adding you to the list before you end up getting suspended.. Yw

*dummy player*
generally solved by adding a generous minimum games played setting to your games, so then again.. pointless.. especially since they can be easily re-created.. oh.. and most dummy players are used in games the main person makes, so re-read statement #1

It's pretty awesome that for trying to bring to people awareness about unfair players I get blacklisted myself. I guess I was being naive, thinking to find support for any altruistic cause on this forum...

have you read your attitude in your chatrooms? the kind of rude behavior I dislike playing with, and the kind of behavior that tends to *cause* people to drag out games

I appreciate the gesture, personally. I just don't play realtime games so I miss out on 99% of the punkass trolls I don't want to play with, so my blacklist is pretty much irrelevant. Still, I'm sure someone will find your list useful.

With the volume of players on WL and the limited utility of blacklisting, I generally error on the side of adding people. So posts like this are helpful to me. But I thinkw e should have a pop-up that warns of before we join a game with anyone we've blacklisted.

Not sure what the heck you mean by "booting without warning". Is the clock counting down in red not a good enough warning? Nevermind the implicit warning of joining ANY game with a boot clock. No further warning needed.

Duke, I like your idea of a warning or signal for players you have blackisted. I may make a uservoice suggestion. However, if my current uservoice suggestion of player notes gets implemented, then there won't be much use for this.

I agree with Duke and disagree with Emp...

just because I have notes of each player, if I join a FFA 20 man that has 1 person I blacklisted, but I might not notice.. so the pop-up would be useful so as to prevent me from having to check every player every time I join..

Hey Perrin, screw you for disagreeing with me... :)

You make a good point there and are right, if joining a FFA with many players, I would not check every profile before joining. So a pop-up would be more effective. But in a one v one scenario, I woiuld check the player notes every time before playing.

U came to defame others, to defame me, and u got out prasing me and defaming yourself.

Instead of giving players a reason y to "blacklist" me, u gave them reasons y to blacklist u, and to play with me.

U offer the public to "blacklist" me in a claim that I'm "dragging out games, refusing to surrender after everyone else did".

That's a lie, and I'll prove it.

1.a. dragging out game**s**: although all the games we played together u couldn't find more than **1** to link.
b. The game u linked for exmaple was 3 teams game, and I surrended while having 27 income + AI at my team.

2. "after everyone else did" - my teammate got booted at the 2nd turn, HE DIDN'T SURRENDER.

Moreover, not only I didn't drag out the game, I offered to vote to end at 2nd turn - the moment my ally got booted by pacman, and u was the only one to refuse.
Conclusion - U dragged out this game, after everone else voted to end XD.

As I told u, only fools think smart people r fools, and strategy players r usually smart enough to enter the chat dialog at the link u posted and judge by themselves.

I also would like to reply( to your reply to a reply XD, and i quote u:

"It's pretty awesome that for trying to bring to people awareness about unfair players I get blacklisted myself. I guess I was being naive, thinking to find support for any altruistic cause on this forum..."

According to your (pretended) attitude, this reply **is based** on your claim that I'm an unfair player. Therefore, due to the fact that your claim was found out as false, your reply is also false.

The cause for **this reply** was to try to attract the public's sympathy and empathy towards u, by pretending of innocence, altruistic and a victim as a result of the last, while for the matter of truth u was about to damge them by causing them to blacklist a fair and good player.

Another cause may even be satisfying dark urges.

Your post and reply could be based on 2 things:
1. Dark urges u may have really "blined" u, and made u belive your own lies.
2. Upon a belive that the public is "stupid" enough to be manipulated by your, or to befooled

At the continuance u wrote "I guess I was being naive":
Seems u was still navie the moment u wrote it, and i mean about reader's ability to discern lies, truth, between fair and unfair players and the most important thing - manipulating efforts XD

If you act like an jerk, then you'll be treated like one, this thread *I thought* was made for people that were jerks, but most of your links only show that *you* are being a jerk and upsetting people, and thus getting what you deserve.. please stop embaressing yourself until you get something real to complain about..
