I think the key is drag the time until there are just one boss, get all bonuses, follow the path of the boss, and collect many armies and blockades, and just then try to kill the clones.

If you just refresh the page and click "No, start a new game" you can make as many tries as you want, but it only shows one attempt.

How do the bosses work?

just like commanders, except that the value they carry with them is equivalent to the number of armies that they are worth.

No, it's not "just" a 3v1
It's a 3v1 where one guy has a multiplying commander worth 100 armies, that when he multiplies turns into 4 90 army-commanders, who all multiply into 4 80 army commanders. On top of this you have to deal with two other guys to avoid getting overrun. If one of the bosses from the first guy mentioned happens to appear near your income on the first multiplication, you're pretty much screwed and have to start over, as expanding with a hostile 90-stack right next to your border is pretty hard.

Turn 12 and I still have not met the pink (eu) commander, and I need those troops I am wasting on pink to stop purple spreading out too fast.

Also does the asian AI have a commander I can kill so he just gets elminated, or do I have to wipe out every clone?
