Yuanshuai had an advantage, even though income was similar. any mistake by Yuanshuai could lead to changing the panorama of the game. in any case, and for the sake of fair play, i think a rematch should be played. but i agree that Yuanshuai should decide.
all the games of that series are pretty much even. nice to watch two good players in duel.

I don't think a single game rematch would be fair. I felt I was going to win that one while playing and this feeling was confirmed after seeing the map at the end. If in a single game rematch you have a slight advantage (thanks to luck, picks, turn order, whatever) and I lose bc of it, I wouldn't be happy.

I have three suggestions. Ruthless can decide what happens next:

1. Game 5 counts. You lost the best of five series. That's it.
2. Make the best of five series a best of 7. Game 5 counts. I'm winning 3-2.
3. Scrap our entire best of 5 series and start a new best of 5 series.

In any case, I'm not especially happy about how that ended. I was going to (1) try to bust Africa that turn with 34, (2) remain alive near your Russian bonus (with small attacks of 2) and (3) follow your army toward China from India.

I think you would have added some troops to Russia, and either some to India or some to take Europe, with the remainder or all going to Africa. The following turn I'd have 26. You'd have 20 or 16. I also had a +5 coming next turn, so the next turn would be 31 vs 20 or 16. Play 2-3 more turns of 26/23 vs 16/20 and I don't see how you would regain the advantage. In fact, I think my advantage would only grow with each turn. Seeing that you got booted was the last thing I wanted to see. I wanted to see the results of my moves.

I have another suggestion, although not exactly the best solution, it is -a- solution..

4. Re-create game 5 through a scenario set-up, exactly where it was when the game ended..

there should only be two downfalls to this that I can foresee.. You cannot give un-equal amount of cards to multiple teams.. and you now both have seen the entire fogless map.

If I had a vote, I would say make it best in 7

Not sure if that would work. I already stated what my next move would've been.

Well my next move...before i was booted. Was to go into Tibet strong, bring my 15 stack back to west russia, leave 4 to scout those two spots. Leave egypt to be taken while bringing those troops to sudan...

That would have left another turn of uncertainty as i would have been at your homefront ready to break two of your bonuses...but also trying to salvage africa, then hopefully getting europe.

What I would love...is to make this a best of 7 as Yuanshuai have been having some good matches and i'd hate to have it end this way.

I absolutely believe that YuanShuai receives the win for that game. There was a slight chance for me to come back, but he was ahead.

I would love if this turned into a best of 7 and now i'm down 3-2. I feel that portion is fair and it would keep the excitement alive.

Yuanshuai -- in lieu of a holiday weekend coming up, I'm going to advise we start this next week. I'll create the game, but not join until Monday night (pacific time).

Sounds good. Let's hope game 6 is as good (for me) as the one we just played! lol

All tied up, 3-3. I had a major advantage and two ways to win (take him out in Russia and/or China) but failed miserably.

I thought the game was still close. I made 1 bad mistake of deciding to power into moscow when i should have made that move at the end of the order. Just thought he was going to transfer in quickly so i wanted a stuff.

I did have some fancy moves in E china though. Also I'm quite happy I kept both fronts alive. That was the key.

Off to game 7!

I'm going to let another veteran take over in the mean time. I'm in too many games to play quick enough. Maybe HeyHeuHei or BP can do it

i just dont understand this competition. if the member player loses, he "buys" a membership for someone else; if the challenger loses, he gets a membership for himself. that sounds really unfair, given the stakes at play.

not really. If you can beat the member player in the series you get a free lifetime account. If you lose, you are forced to buy your membership.

What the member gains, is another person added to the pool of members
What the Challege gains, is a free membership

it might be unfair if you value those things differently

no, no -- those tradeoffs are fine. i thought the member was the one to pay the membership for the challenger. thanks for the info.

then it makes very little sense -- the challenge should be harder. some non-members are amazingly good.
it should be something like: 2 members vs 1 non-member, in one game. the possibility of the non-member to win is very low -- but still exists.
that's my view on that...

True, some non-members are very good. And those are the non-members Blue Precision was trying to attract to the ladder when he first offered this challenge. Basically, the 'challenge' is a member giving the gift of 1 (or more) membership to a non-member. The first to beat him. We can give lip service to the value of having more competition and opponents on the ladders, but there really isn't that much incentive to the member, other than generosity.
