I ve been just suspended. Currently I am playing at least 5 tournaments, 1v1 included. I would like to say few words about what happened.

Player 'dzob' firstly insulted me in polish. Whole my warlight history Ive never reported anyone, this time too. I replied him in polish, I used exactly the words he did. And the coward reported me. So I would like to apologize people I play tournaments with right now. Im suspended until 23rd, so we will lost all. Sorry Ottarin, sorry Uroboros, sorry robke and many others I forgot. I wish people like dzob will be eliminated from our community and such things wont happen again.

And if its possible I would like to ask Fizzer to cancel suspension, cause I put much effort to play those tournaments and this time I will really quit and wont come back to warlight.

Players shouldn't be suspended unless they do this sort of thing repeatedly, or are particularly tasteless. It's the interwebz, if you haven't gotten used to swearing and insults by now, I don't know what to say. So I assume in all cases of players being reported, it's not because the person reporting is truly offended, but because they are resentful of the player they are reporting, as is clear in this case, where the same language was used, and one player reported and the other didn't. Matt-o, my teammate in a tournament, was suspended for something which was clearly a joke.

We're not children, if you have a problem with something someone says, deal with it yourself, or get over it, as Layton attempted to do here.

Besides, I'd rather be verbally abused in every single game then have to put up with shit like teammates being booted and players not voting to end. Those are the players who really deserve suspension.

Well, since you wanted to bring it up publicly, I want to make a couple things clear.

1. You've already received three warnings. Three. You've been warned more than any other person in WarLight.
Normally, this behavior would have resulted in a warning, but the first three weren't heeded and I had no reason to believe piling a fourth on would have any effect.

2. Just because someone insults you doesn't give you right to break the WarLight rules. The rules (that you've agreed to four times now) say "Treat all players with respect." You seem to be confusing this with a rule that says "Treat all players with respect unless they insult you in polish, in which case you can use the words they do."

I have read many post very similar to this one through my time playing Warlight so far. Randy I have to say that I absolutely love it when you come up with different
"rules" that people get the actual rules confused with. It cracks me up. I am not sure how some people think they can simply change the rules when desired and then get pissed when a punishment occurs. Keep up the great work!

I assume from the title of the thread that Layton is "Quadaffi".

If so then Qadaffi has history, he's a total ass who insults people in games and has annoyed most of the Warlight community on these forums. He's trying to play innocent now but don't believe a word of it.

I completely disagree with this reply. I paid for a membership because of the rules that are in place. I have no problem with swearing and insults as long as its a friend of mine doing it, but when a complete stranger does it then I'll tolerate only so much. I've never reported anyone and probably never will, so just because someone tolerates something doesn't mean they have to like it.
I rarely play open games for these reasons, I'm lucky in that I have plenty of friends to play private matches.
For a community to grow you need rules, and rules need to be enforced.

Uh ...I never said you had to like it. And you don't seem to have listened to any of the points I made.

The system whereby people report players when they feel like it doesn't work, as most people never do, except out of spite for the player they're reporting. So the system doesn't achieve the intended goal, as people do not really change the was they act because of it. Moreover, people (and their teammates) are punished unfairly, as they are reported on the whim of the other person (who, as in this case, was himself swearing and being insulting).

You don't need to report someone once they've said more than you can tolerate. There are other ways to end arguments in a less childish manner.

You rarely play open games purely because you're ... worried? ... that someone will say what? Seriously? I don't believe that.

Finally, "treat all players with respect" is an incredibly vague rule. Clearly, it's something impossible to enforce,. So even given your final sentence, I'm not wrong.

I hope your friends don't insult you too much.

Sindbad, I wonder whats in Your head if You think You can tell people how to act only because You paid for membership. Nobody respects You just because You paid some dollars for membership, especially that dollar is going down :)

Nevermind.

Remember one thing - there are things in life You cannot buy.

Cheers.

"...including You and Fizzer and the noob."

I assume "the noob" here refers to BondSniper." This made me curious, so I checked: "the noob" has played 292 games with an 86% win percentage, while the "total ass" has played 914 games with a 54% win percentage. As a philosopher I'm wondering if "the noob" has a different meaning in Poland, perhaps something like "one with far less experience but considerably more skill than myself." Of course not knowing the customs in Poland, one can only speculate...

WM x, I meant what I said in the nicest possible way. I apologize if I offended. I saw your opinion and I just gave mine, nothing more than that. I had no intention of debating this. My friends insult me, I insult them and so on, but friends is the point I'm making. Am I worried? Kind of, for the young ones that get to see some of the in game chats. As for me, I'm a big boy with thick skin, I'm not easily offended.

As a newer member I'm not exposed to the short comings of the rules as you say, but its not unfair of me to have reasonable expectations of them when I paid for membership, that's all I meant by that.

I hope to join in on some more open games, I'm sure I can learn a lot. I look forward to gaming with you sometime but be warned, I'm not very good, average at best.
Btw, if you feel the desire to insult me in chat I think you'll find you misunderstood what I'm about. Peace.

Sindbad, Im sorry, I misjudged You in some way, but still I see no reason why members should have some special treatment or sth. Also I think allowing members to create more interesting games just because they paid money is unfair.

Protagoras, You care about statiscits. I dont. Im just playing and waiting for some improvements, cause the game is getting boring and boring. Of course its nice Fizzer earned some money, but many players left. Too many.

You phrased it as a response to what I said and quoted my comment (almost) in full. I didn't realise you were just voicing your opinion. And I was just joking about your friends insulting you.

Don't be too worried for the 'young ones', as you can see with Qadaffi, they're worse than the adults.

And, um, if you think I have a desire to insult you, the misunderstanding is all on your end.
