I was faffing about the Single Player tab earlier, trying to get my gold stars. Playing level three I checked on someone's profile the amount of turns required for gold (19). Upon completion of the level I realized I had done it in 18 turns (a turn faster than required)!

I think it would be nice if there was an achievement for this. An Iron Cross-esque number would be quite agreeable. For going above and beyond the call of duty. Thoughts?

Who plays against AI, seriously? I bet you used to pick on kids that were younger than you at school.

You want gold stars like a 6 year old? How about this for an achievment; if you beat the requirement for gold star you can post in this thread about it and people will reply with kind messages of adoration.

I do not play against AIs so that I can gloat about winning. I see getting gold stars for every level as a challenge that I wish to overcome. I don't care about receiving extol from other players. I want to see if others have been in the same situation or have the same opinion on the matter.

I bet you were picked on as a kid. This left you sour and eager to jump down anyone's throat you figure is an easy target.

Why dont you wish to overcome the challenge of another player? Why do you set yourself a target that almost everyone could meet a few days into the game?

You dont care about recieving extol? BS, You asked for a fucking medal.

I went to the kind of school where everyone gets picked on to some degree, but i dont think thats the reason im the way i am. I jumped down your throat because your attitude to WL annoys me. Dont bring your stupid "my number is smaller than your number" comparisons here. Cant you see that it doesnt matter?

I thought the same thing when I saw there were some who managed to beat it a turn or two earlier. I thought a platinum start would be cool, I haven't managed that yet, but I'd like to try sometime.

@Dead Piggy

Being a decent player, I recognize there are many who are superior to myself and, knowing that some are younger than me, brings a great sense of humility. That does not mean I can't share my achievements and feel accomplished. You think because you're one of the best you can bash on anyone who talks about their achievements? What's wrong with showing off a little of your success. L's not asking us to openly worship him.

What's wrong with playing the single players games for their achievements? You act like your something better. Get off your high horse, mighty piggy. Stop displacing the frustration of your life's failures and shortcomings on people who are happy about something they achieved.

Why not take it up with someone who trolls and brag for the sake of attention? I don't see you bashing on Gui or Pulsey when they're going off on a tangent, I wonder why.

If youre comparing yourself to other people that's a bad start, but it can be constructive. It should not be the source of your humility. If youre taking into account their age then youre waaaay off base. You would be better off getting a sense of achievement through doing something thats good in its own right, rather than good by comparison to someone else. L definitely was asking me to openly worship him. HE ASKED FOR A MEDAL.

There is nothing wrong with playing single player games. If you do it just for a star on your profile then there is something wrong with you.

I dont bash gui and pulsey because theyre good and i like playing with them. They just play to make good moves.

I did not ask for a medal, piggy. I suggested an achievement for getting below the gold star level. The Iron Cross bit was not to be taken seriously. You can take my statements as me 'asking [you] to openly worship [me]', but that is not the way I intended them to come across.

There are a number of ways it can be achieved. Winning single player games quickly would be an example of one.

Achievement: (n)
1. The act of accomplishing or finishing.
2. Something accomplished successfully, especially by means of exertion, skill, practice, or perseverance

Getting a trophy on WarLight is the representation of achievement. Dead piggy, master of humility, teach us to hide our stats like you so we can show how much we don't care, like you.

If youre comparing yourself to other people that's a bad start, but it can be constructive.

Comparison is the act of drawing similarities and differences between something. From this you can draw conclusions for improvement. Comparing yourself to others is not misguided, but a tool of measurement, constructive if you don't overuse it or depend completely on it. I don't.

If youre taking into account their age then youre waaaay off base.

And what makes you say that? From a person's age you can draw experience, biological and mental maturity. THIS ISN'T always the case, but as a generalization holds true, even in our modern progressive age, because our biology hasn't changed all that much. Our brains don't fully mature until we are around 25 years of age. You're welcome to look this up. That means someone who is 15 is less mentally mature than a 20 year old, on average. Differences are found in genetics, consumption of nutrients and drugs which can improve or inhibit development, etc. Age is perhaps not the best method of comparison, but a consistently decent one. Considering this is a game that requires concentration of the mind, a biologically mature mind has an advantage over one that is less matured. If someone who is 15 and has the experience of an average 15 year old consistently beats someone several years older than him, then that is impressive. Also, my humility is found in playing against players who consistently beat me, sorry that that wasn't clear to you.

L definitely was asking me to openly worship him. HE ASKED FOR A MEDAL.

He said recognition would be nice, for all players who manage to do this, not just himself. Asking to be worshiped looks a bit different. Those who want to be worshiped, don't usually like to share that worship. You're welcome to look that up as well.

There is nothing wrong with playing single player games. If you do it just for a star on your profile then there is something wrong with you.

Maybe you misunderstand something, or are simply ignorant to it. Players who don't know you will judge your skill based on your profile. A gold star helps give a good impression. That aside, I do it for personal satisfaction and knowing my skill has improved enough that I managed to complete the achievement and because I enjoy breaking challenges.

I dont bash gui and pulsey because theyre good and i like playing with them. They just play to make good moves.

Are you quoting them or assuming this? Playing to make good moves is a good enough reason for you? I play because I enjoy it, is that acceptable enough to you, dead piggy? If you play a game (any game), do you go for hidden achievements or side missions? Are we less acceptable if we do?

Ska, is there a reason you've been acting like an ass towards me the last week or so? Can you say some nice or at the very least, something constructive?

gosh. perhaps you read too much dodgy anime, because your writing style is painfully turgid.

Allow me to give some constructive criticism to your last post alone. No no, don't thank me.

"Indeed, it is" is never preferable to "yes" or even a down-home "yep", a slack "yeah" or a laconic "yh". Or for Piggy's sake, a West country "Yarp". Replying to a simple question on a messageboard with "Indeed, it is" makes you sound like a Punch parody of a quaint Victorian lady.

Additionally, with a ten-word comment, there is truly no need for brackets. Either the word is necessary enough to warrant an 11% increase to your word count, and therefore does not require brackets, or it isn't necessary enough, and it shouldn't be in there at all.

Listen sport, I'm only saying this because you're a potentially good writer (and because you're making about 20 posts an hour). But it's like you're playing touch football, and trying to throw a 100-yard pass in every play. It's just too much.

Basically, you write like the Anti-x Capybara (look him up).

I like everything neat and in its assigned place. I do not approve of the use of such phrases as 'yh'. Besides, I cannot chuckle at people and their atrocious spelling/grammar if my own is sub-par. Lord knows, everyone hates a hypocrite.
I may be able to pull it down a notch to a simple 'yes', but don't hold your breath. Thank you for your criticism. I have taken it into account.

Edit: The fact that you misspelled 'what' shows that you are a failed Victorian lady, if anything.

There's no dash in "subpar".

don't hold your breath

The fact that

But I should be glad that you went three whole posts without using the word "extol". The reason I thought this might not be your native language is because nobody talks like how you write. My second guess, then, being that your reading material is inferior. Go read some literature kiddo. I guarantee that your portentous style is 99% of the reason you were being oinked at.
