It's media coverage which kills non-Democrats and non-republicans. And since the major news networks are party run, I see only one way to end the monopoly. The collapse of the Republican Party and the democrats absorbing their infrastructure. This would either result in three things: a one party state, a new party that takes the republicans place , or all of the non-democrats running off to new movements and parties breaking the two party system and giving people like Johnson a chance.

This thought scares me. It's probably the main I reason I want the GOP to survive for the time being, if only because it gives the Democrats an opposition. A two-party state isn't the best, but it's still better than a one-party state.

I'll be the first to cheer once the two-party system is replaced with a multi-party one though.
