I think the reason why no one is playing it is:

1. Its a new map
2. It did not get featured in the new maps page- it got pushed out by two other new maps
3. Prior to that map, I have not made nearly as good of a map.

It does not even have a rating yet, so I can't say if I feel it is under or overrated yet.

Yes, but I do minimal effort. I.e. Using formulas instead of typing a map maker's name, for example.

Muli can't identify the map makers, don't know about knyte...

Some mapmakers should really consider their map making techniques. As Semicedevine already said, my eyes may bleed... Although it is remarkeble that your 6. Semicedivine New Earth map has such a high rating for such a sloppy and 3rd remake map. Nevertheless your Islamic African Nations 2016 is much better.
If it is up to me than I would say that it is better to have 1 great map than 30 terrible maps. I know my first maps were not great but I try (and succeed) in improving my map making skills.
