Hi all, my first post and it's a query
I'm a bit new to this game and I'm in this game http://warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=4882859
In round 3 (early in the game) my opponent suddenly comes into attack with a massive amount of armies, near 900 when I get 6. How is this possible? / is this cheating?

Ohh, I see now, the map maker/game creator set one single territory to have 1000 armies bonus and selected that on start. Is this fair play? Is this within the rules and spirit of the game?
In case this should be reported please point me in the right direction.

It is in my opinion and I would sincerely like Fizzer to reduce the points you win in these games, or make them practice only if it's feasible.

What your opponent has done is 'overridden' the Carthago bonus to make it worth 1000 armies per turn. And also Britannia to 15 - possibly to distract people into missing the Carthago change. What this means is he has edited the bonus value to mean if he gets Carthago after the picking phase he will win.

The best way to protect yourself against this is stop always check the settings on a game before you join. Any changes that are not standard are highlighted in Yellow.

I would blacklist him if I was you though so that you do not see his games in the future in the open games tab.

Thanks, I told him to turn it into a practice game, if that isn't doable then surrender the game and that I voted to end the game.

You can't change from ranked to practice mid-game. And I doubt someone who made a game like that would agree to vote to end. But I wish you good luck with it at least. :)

He voted to end and hopefully learned not to set such a game up again, still my bad to join and I hopefully learned to read the setting before joining in.

It was terrible play from both of you. Multiattack he should have won straight away with 1000 armies. Easy to check all obvious starts and munch the opposition in one fell swoop. For a fixed game it was very badly done...

If i would cheat like that, I would be too lazy to swoop my opponent in one go.
I would say : "look, you lost, I have 1000 armies muhahaha, surrender you worm" and hope he complies.
