hey, short question - shall I describe 379-territories map as a medium or large? Are there any official guidelines for that issue?

I would say medium

When I think of Large I think 500+
So medium

small 2-100
Medium 100-500
Large 500-1000
Too Big for anything but 40 person diplos 1000+

Anything over 300 is large IMO.

But you can't throw 40 person diplos on a mere 300 territories.

I would say large is anything that is too big to play 3v3 strategically. Rise of Rome is not even 300 territories and I would say it is on the upper end of what you'd call strategic.

I would say that small is 100 or less, medium is between 100 and 1000, large is 1000 +
