I was watching game of thrones, and there was a fight, to determine if Tyrion lived or not. If both combatants died in hideous levels of pain, why don't they order a re-trial, cos the gods obviously couldn't decide that time?

Because Tyrion is innocent if his champion lives, since he died Tyrion is not innocent, regardless of whether the other fighter dies or not

It's not just with GoT it is with all trial by combat in the past if you had a champion in the trial your life is tied to his since technically you should be fighting and not him.

Another question:
Do white walkers only give a s*** about the seven kingdoms? Cos the east doesn't seem to care about them at all, and they are pretty far north in some cases.
